My weird cats published in American Butterflies magazine

Edinburg, TX

Yippee!!! Hoorah!!! The article made it into print!!!

NABA American Butterflies magazine Winter 2005/6
(volume 13 # 4 pages 18-24)

Remember the post last year about all the butterflies I'd photographed on my duranta - and I included a photograph of a weird caterpillar? http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/547447/

Well, the weird looking caterpillars were eventually identified as rare Marius Hairstreak caterpillars and a fellow lepidopterist (Gil Quintanilla) wrote an article about them and sent the awesome photos he took the NABA American Butterflies magazine. (He's the one who raised them as I've never raised a caterpillar.)

Thanks to all the hoopla these buggers caused last year I have since learned how to plant larval hosts and raise caterpillars :o)

The link below provides photos of the 'weird cats' and a link for the adult butterfly that were posted on our local South Texas NABA website.

This is the first caterpillar I found that started all the hoopla!!!
