Remember the post last year about all the butterflies I'd photographed on my duranta - and I included a photograph of a weird caterpillar? http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/547447/

Well, the weird looking caterpillars were eventually identified as rare Marius Hairstreak caterpillars and a fellow lepidopterist (Gil Quintanilla) wrote an article about them and sent the awesome photos he took the NABA American Butterflies magazine. (He's the one who raised them as I've never raised a caterpillar.)

Thanks to all the hoopla these buggers caused last year I have since learned how to plant larval hosts and raise caterpillars :o)
