My small Styrax japonica is bursting with buds! Here is a preview of coming attractions.

This shot is not as interesting, but note the profusion of buds! Just before the buds open, I think they are even more beautiful than the flowers.

I am in the process of getting a Styrax 'pink chimes'...it is going to replace a clump forming bamboo (fargesia nitida) which bloomed its' 100 year old head off and then died. I have never had one but am looking forward to its' beauty.
