I grew several clumps of Heliopsis 'Loraine Sunshine' from seed last year, and, as fate would have it, each clump consists of both variegated and non-variegated foliage. I can't see any way to separate out the variegated in a division, so I'd like to propagate it from stem cuttings.
I've read the cuttings section of "Making More Plants" several times, but I can't get my head around the difference between "firm," "turgid," "green wood" and "hard wood."
The plants are about a foot tall at this point, and I wonder if someone can advise me as to the best time to attempt to root stem cuttings.
Thanks in advance,
Donn (Zone 7)
