Hi All,
this year Eau Claire Wi. Is hosting the National Lily Show. If anyone wants info on it please reply and I will make sure you get the info. I have everything on pdf files so I can e-mail them to anyone who is interested. We are also having a photo contest this year and I have that info also.
59th Annual North American Lily Show & Symposium
tell me more.i've got some great photo's.
If you go to the Wisconsin Regional Lily website (www.wrls.org) you will find the info for the photo contest. The other info for the show is also on the webpage. Any other questions I would be more than happy to answer or find out the answers for you. The lilies here are just starting to pop nicely. I sure hope that we don't get a freeze because that will surely deform the stems and then I won't have any stems to enter in the show. Thanks for the interest Queenbeez. Did you attend the show 2 years ago when it was in Owatona MN?
I've already sent in our registrations! Getting excited as a whole group of us are going to make this our Ladies Summer Vacation!
I'm so glad to have more lily lovers here at DG. :)
Lillyfan, What day are you coming to the conference? If you come on Wed. the Wed. nite welcome to Wisconsin party will be hosted by my husband Jim, son Dan and myself Sandy. I would sooo love to have you come it is free with your registration. I am so very excited about the whole thing. And I look so forward to meeting all these other lily lovers.
Sandy
Sandy,
We are coming on Wed. and we did sign up for the Welcome party! There will be 5 of us; anahi, moby, wandasflowers, a dear friend Teresa, and myself.
Now I am really looking forward to this trip! Hurry up July...................ok not too fast though, I still want to enjoy my gardens for awhile yet!
Sue
yes I agree now I am REALLY excited. When you come there are also a few other places around that have really nice lily gardens that I can direct you to. Isn't gardening just tooooo fun!! And all the gardeners you meet are always willing to share their ideas and experiences.
Now that we know who the garden host is, that will make it that much nicer to meet you, flowergod!
This is just too exciting! It will be great to meet another lily loving dg'er, and to have you as our hostess, well..................I'm speechless!
Can it get any better than this? This is soooo exciting!
We have some wonderful people in our society that I know you will enjoy visiting with. Some of them have great knowledge (I don't happen to be on of the), I'm just a lover of all plants. Although lilies do happen to be my favorite. I don't hybridize I just plant guess I don't have enough time or knowledge to have "sex in the garden" I will be sure to tell everyone about you girls and I'm sure they will also look for ward to meeting with you.
Speaking about sex in the garden...Moby, did you get your p**** plant planted?
oh yeah! He's a beauty!
GASP!!! (covers her eyes):-0
That is one hooded beast! I like his hat! : )
That is beautiful. By the looks of it I think I should come to Nebraska and see your garden.
LOL Thanks. I always say my garden is incredible ~ for those that don't garden!
I've gotta make a trip that direction Mary, cause I wanna see your garden too! Now we need to expand to 48 hour days for just a little while.
Sandy, I am looking forward to seeing your garden. It is one of the best things about this kind of trip. Of course, we all know that meeting others who are as obsessed as we are about gardening is the very best!
Let's see....48 hour days...April through October....then 12 hour days for winter. I could handle that!
I could live with that! Well, I think I could make it through the spring...............................LOL
i would like those kind of hours also. All I do in the winter is work so spring and summer is my time and boy do I enjoy it. I make the most out of those light hours. Although after today I'm not so sure it is spring. We had sleet and snow . I'm sure it won't stay but it makes for a long week when the weather is like this. Good thing I didn't plant any annuals yet and I hope the lilies can take this. it isn't below freezing yet.
Sleet and snow? When it's May those are naughty words...Shame on you Sandy! : ) Beve
We were down to 42° F this morning. I already have frost damage from about 10 days ago.
Sure hope this weather moderates a little: T shirt and shorts one day and then 2 days later a turtleneck and sweatshirt with jeans!
Same here ~ brrr!
