Viburnum plicatum tomentosum summer snowflake today

Cincinnati, OH(Zone 6b)

This is one floriferous plant! This photo doesn't quite do it justice. The flowers are absolutely snow white.

Looks much more erect than the Vpt's I've seen elsewhere. Is that a characteristic of this cultivar, or just by chance?

I am told that 'Summer Snowflake' typically develops this form given the right cultural conditions. It is hard to picture this when you see the little ones in the nursery, though. SB

Yeah, from the overall habit I would have guessed some other species! If you don't have enough space to enjoy the fuller form of something like 'Mariesii' or 'Lanarth' this selection would let you enjoy the flowers anyway.

Wow, that is really nice. And here I thought my Shasta was getting large at about 6 1/2 feet!!
