I purchased an Euonymus japonicus 'Aureo-marginatus' form Wal Mart yesterday. In looking up info on it, I find it is said to be hardy to zone 6b. I am in 6a. Have any of you in 6a, or colder, had any success with this shrub? Also, will it do okay in filtered shade? I can plant it in a protected location.
Golden Euonymus
Mine is climbing the trunk of my 60+' Cedar (Thuja plicata) so it gets no sun, full shade and its kinda dry under there. Seems to be doing well.
Yes, but you are in zone 8b!
OK I didn't look it up, but I have the 'sunspot' sold as moonshadow at walmart and emerald and gold also. They both do fine here, they are in light shade. I also have sarcoxie which is growing like crazy now.
Al
Al, that is encouraging. Thanks.
