My first fantasy Strep bloomed!

Yes, everyone brings plants to sell and they go on a plant table and anyone who wants the plant can buy it. this time after the judged show, they auctioned off the 'Hawaiian Pearl' that won 2nd place. It was a nice one.

I have leaves down or I might have bid on it.

Sorry 2Zues for hijacking your thread...

Sorry 2Z :)) Sounds like a good time Laurie ! Learn anything new to teach us ?

yes, I learned how to hybridize! We didn't get too much into recessive genes, dominant genes, but Jeff Smith has an artical to read if I want to learn more.

And to stay on topic, one of my D&P bargains bloomed this morning. I didn't really even know it was budded up. I generally ignore this tray of streps as it's the one from DP and they just sit there ususally, not doing much. but this morning Charlotte (the dibley's hybrid, not the other) had an open bloom! WOWZA is it a cutie pie huge yolk center! Periwinkle blue flower with a big yellow throat. I'll try and shoot a photo. Double Trouble is still blooming and I picked up a 'mini' at a nursery I went hopping to with Zuzu. It's identical to Dibley's Laura. So tiny and beautiful. And at $3, I had to get two so I would have plenty of leaves to share.

Pretty!

And I get a kick out of hijacked threads, reading the way they roam all over the map, just like a conversation in person does, is interesting.

Now I have a big bud on my Kim strep, so am checking that one 30 times an hour...
