Something eating petunia seedlings - could use some help

Hillside, IL(Zone 5a)

I planted some Wave petunia's and something has gotten to 3 of them, eating most of the leaves on one and started to eat 2 others. I have isolated these plants and looked them over with magnifers but see no sign of insects.
Can someone help me out and tell me what it might be and how to stop it.
This happened after I brought them out to harden off, thought it could be birds but have a starter house with netting that I put up but the leaves are still being eaten. This is my first time growing from seed
Any help would be appreciated
Marty

slugs and snails love petunias. If you look at the plant that has been eaten, I bet that you will see the dried slime trail that they leave on the plant.

I have looked very closely and see no trails, enclosed is a pic

in fact Marty if you don't have many, put them up on a table outside. And look underneath the cellpacks to make sure the slug/snail isn't there right now. They like to hide somewhere dark during the day and they are not going to be far from the petunias for tonights meal.

Tigerlily123,
Looked underneath the flat and low and behold their was a small slug who met his maker.Went to Menards and bought Shultz slug and snail pellets.Put one pellet by each plant. Is this OK for them as a future deterrent?

lol did you use salt?? I would put a trail of the pellets by the flat-around the flat. I don't think one pellet per plant is going to cut it, but I could be wrong.I would not put the pellets in the dirt-but on the ground.
