Red leaved native plum?

Atmore, AL(Zone 8b)

I can remember about 15 years ago there was a red leaved plum tree in my backyard. It had to be cut down because of old age and black knot. From what I remember, it seemed like a redleaved chickasaw plum. The suckers that came up around it were red too, so it was on it's own roots. One of the suckers formed about a six foot tree but it died too. It didn't look like the purple leaf plums I see everywhere today. The foliage was shaped like prunus angustifolia, but was wine red. It had plums about 1-1.5 inch diameter.

Look on T's Flowers & Things site.

She just put Peach Tree seedlings up for sale,
and at a reasonable privce, too.

I ordered two. Teresa said the tree has white peaches.
Although she does not have the botanical name I have
been searching for it.
