New Orange - Butterfly x ??

Hubbard, OR(Zone 8a)

Here is a great new seedling hybridized by Mary H. It has an extremely nice orange color and the ruffled blooms are unique. It is on it's second year and has been true to color, shape, size, and form for every flush. I think it deserves a name. Any ideas??

She is absolutely beatifull if it were mine I would name her Brittany for my Granddaughter, but for her color I would name her SUNSET, and if you have seeds or cutting to spare I would love just one.

Love the color! I'm with Doris - if you ever do any trimming I'd love a cutting. That citrus orange reminds me of orange sherbet. LOL Drawing a blank for a name right now.

Nice plant Jay. How about: Orange Juice, Big Sister, Ooh La La, or Ethereal?

BTW, I'm growing some of your seed, Creamsicle x (Rothkirk x Pink Beauty). Just sprouted yesterday. Thanks!

With a Butterfly parent and such a lovely orange, how bout "Monarch" as in both regal and the butterfly.

Jeremiah, It is really lovely, I am a sucker for the oranges. I like tombaak's suggestion for a name.

I am also growing out some of your seeds this summer. Just moved them to gallon sized pots today.

Yes a lovely orange. Orange is my favorite flower colour of all. I sure wouldn't paint my house that colour, but in a flower, it is just amazing!

Congratulations Jeremiah and Mary! Beautiful color and shape. I vote for "Monarch", reflecting not only it's known parentage, but also its beautiful color.

Hmmmmmm I think you should trial her in Hawaii, don't you?....:>)))))

I like Monarch because she is so elegantly stunning. I thought of GRACE as in GRACIOUS. TANGERINE? HAYDON (one of the best Mangos grown)?

Whatever her name is...it won't do her beauty justice!!!

Probably futile, but I would love to snivel and beg for a cutting...:~)
