My m'in law in SC sent me seeds from what she called "August lilies". White, tall, fragrant, grassy seedlings. Incredibly successful!
But I didn't save seeds, and don't have any idea what they were(are). My summers are short, but they were easy to sprout and grew well, and flowered that summer.

vt
lily seed to flower in single summer: 'real' name?
Could they be lilium formosanum?

Supposedly they flower the first year from seed.
I currently have some growing in the house that I started from seed in about February.

That would be my guess also. I have mine ready to go out on the shady porch to harden them off a bit
You know, I think that's it! Lilium formosanum.
Great! Now I'll look for seeds, and remember to save some.
THANKS
