Hi all,
See my blog today about how redbuds came to be nicknamed the "Judas Tree." (Always working on improving the site. Suggestions are welcome, especially from you guys!)

'Judas Tree'
Joulz,
I just love your website.
Scott
Dear Scott,
Thank you! I kinda like it too! You're so nice to take the time to write. Sweet.

Suggestions are welcome, especially from you guys!
How did you mean that?
1. Specifically from me and others named Guy?
2. From the male population in general?
3. From anyone of any gender willing to butt in?
By the way, that redbud photo almost looks like erotica if you visualize the redbud bark as the background and the background as the foreground . . . I forget now what they call photos like that, viewable in more than one way. Are they merely "optical delusions"? Somebody help me out here!
(I bet you get a bunch of hits now!)

I meant "you guys" in the "all you guys who are tree freaks" sense, but especially my favorite book author and aboretum owner, Guy, whose site is, by the way, on my favorite links page! Saying "you guys" gets me out of saying "yous" which is that Jersey thing I can't stand AND out of saying "ya'll" which people in Jersey like to pick on me for.
But probably ya'll don't care if I say "ya'll."
About your erotica description of the redbud photo: I think you need a cold shower. I stared and stared at the picture, but I don't see it that other way! Yep, I bet it'll get a bunch of hits NOW, thanks Guy (she said, rolling her eyes). I don't even want to ask what it is, specificially, that you see!
(You can find that picture now on this page:)

I tried that darn Judas tree, Cercis silaquestrum, but it betrayed me by dying back to the ground each year, only to rise from the dead and betray me again the next winter.

Youse and y'all are both fine with me. Don't let the accent critics rattle you! By the way, I gave LOL a very special nickname a few years ago, based upon her smooth suthrn accent. Maybe if y'all are really persistent she'll tell you what it is! I can't divulge it, or she'd hunt me down and string me up on a live oak tree.
Kevin, I had no luck overwintering C. siliquastrum here either. I guess some things are not meant to be.
Guy S.
