As far as I know, they cannot be rooted from cuttings...just seed, maybe grafting as well.

According to Michael DIrr Laburnum "leaf bud cuttings taken in early summer rooted 80%, cuttings from root sprouts rooted 100%. "This information was taken from "Manual of Woody Landscape Plants"

thanks guys,I didnt think it would root i have it in my green house in a pot of sand and water, i propaged some fuchsias that way and if it dont no big deal, i have some seed as will from the same tree we will see what happens.
Frank i dont know about root sprouts because if it was graphed it may not be true to the tree?

The seeds have a hard coat. DIrr says that they keep well dry for two years. Seeds may be scarified in sulfuric acid for 15 - 30 minutes then rinsed.

wow in acid mmmmmm maybe it would be safer if i just bought the tree lol.
Im thinking this is done to sofen the seed coat, wonder if i scrach the seed if that would work .
I know cana lily seeds have a hard seed coat and just rubbing it with a nailfile work good thay sproted in no time the ones not scrached are still not sproted.

I imagine the use of a file will work well as long as you are careful not to damage the seed . Here in East Lansing I've found seedlings of this plant in our downtown park. So if conditions are right you may find offspring near someones tree.

Frank i never though of that ,im going back to check it out.
I will let you know how it goes with the seed and the cuting.

The easiest way I know to scarify hard seeds is to take a peace of sand paper, turn rough side inside a jar,and churn,I'm too clumbsy to be whittleing on seeds

what a great idea, im going to try that thanks mqiq
