Ornamental sweet potato cuttings

Greer, SC(Zone 7b)

I hear that cuttings from sweet potato vines are easy. I have 3 cuttings from different varieties in a shot glass of water on a windowsill. How long does it usually take to develop roots. It has been 3 days so far and no sign of growth. Am I doing this correctly.

You have to take the 1st 3-4" of the plant-the tip and stick it in dirt, keep it moist and warm-will take about 10 days to root. For the first few days, it will look wilted-don't worry-just water with warm water. From your picture, it looks like you don;t have enough of the plant

Thanks for your help, I do only have 1 leaf and stem. I will try some more.

Make sure you snip just below a leaf then take off that leaf. They will grow roots where the little nub is from taking off the leaf.

ahhh, that makes more sense now. Thanks again for everyone's help!
