Thanks April and Diane
but I have killed many .

I think Jesse had posted an 'update' of sorts on one of her other posts.....I'll have to look that up.

Oh...it was up above, on April 6th.

"Hubby said that I do not have to leave on Sunday with him and can fly out a few days later if I need to in order to get my plants all ready........................Talk to you when I get back"

Hope she got all her plants 'in order'!

I was standing by for a contact from her for instructions how to take care of her plants while she's away. I have'nt heard from her yet and was wondering what her status was. Hope she checks in with us - caring minds wanna know...

Lilburn, GA

I think she has made friends with the Brats group. She met them and had a great time at bluebirds. I havent' seen anything about going to CA.

I don't understand why she isnt posting here. :o(

What is the Brats group?

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Yes your right Spider. She posted on the 6th. that she was going to Bluebirds to buy pots to hurry and get her plants wicked. Instead she bought 21 more plants to worry about when she already has over 400 rare plants to worry about .
Funny back when she wanted plants and leaves from us all FREE she had no plants and barly could put money together to pay shipping. She had nothing to share with us and made her depressed.
And we have not heard from her for days.
But maybe we should pray for her it's not her fault she is on SSD for Bi-Polar ( SP) mental depressed issues.

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Oh, swoznick...so you're the person who was going to water her plants while she was away?

if so....*no wonder* you're wondering....(now I get it!)

Yeah, I was wondering, too, what's the BRATS group?

I think Jesse's a lot like me......she collects a little bit of everything, and has mostly Cacti & Succulents....so I do think that's what the majority of her collection consists of. (just thought you'd want to know that :0)

Oh my I remember who she is now, she loved my Strawberry Festival and didn't have the money to buy any fancy AVs...very strange, you know it's too bad everybody can't be more like me! LOL.
i was going to send her some plants, some named, some NOIDS, but heck if she bought from Bluebird she sure doesn't need my NOIDS.
The Brats is another Web/forum- I forget the real name. I have browsed their site but didn't really investigate, I use Dave's for many things other than AVs and so this site w/ this forum suited my needs. Now on the other hand, if folks here hadn't been so supportive and kind I probably would have looked at Brats more.

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

I sent Jesse two big large Priority boxes of named African violets and named leaves. All rare , fancy expensive plants for FREE. She wanted special ones with fantasy to make her blind husband happy and variegated ones and variegated Rob's and so on " ALL WHICH I SENT TO HER " Other have send her big boxes of named plants. And she was always buying plants named and no named . Or she was finding plants she did not know she had on her stands ? Behind something or an other and it was alive ?? How does this happen.
I tell you can trade on other groups but they are not happy when you ask others for plants or leaves for postage nor did I ever see people giving them away.
I saw just recently a memebership taken away from a member on V V for asking for free / for shipping leaves. They could come back but not ask again.
I like Dave's a they have many forums something for everyone. The people are kind and caring and selfishness.
I would have shipped Jesse free but I am on Hospice 24 care and low income and could not. It did take her months to get $15.00 for me to ship her plants. Mean while she was always buying plants and three new plant stands and lights..... So I don't think she is hurting.
Bluebirds plants range from almost $5.00 - about $9.00 for Spcae babies, Streps, Gessie's, Russian plants. plus tax if you got to the store and if you have to buy pots to wick all your plants to keep them alive while your in Florida and 21 plants you know the bill is a good amount $$$.
Well at least we know she is OK so we don't have to worry.

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

These are some of the plants and leaves I sent Jesse. All good size plants in new pots, some in full bloom. I know Lorry and other people sent her also so she was not doing without and she was always buying and find named plants she did not know she had. lol

I know she does not have to post to get free plants from us but don't lie you love us blah blah blah

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

I checked out the Brats site, briefly.....they seem to all be nice people, but all those busy names and graphics that people add to their posts drive me nuts and take a long time to load on my slow old dial-up!

Besides...you all talk about other plants besides AV's! (I have a few and love them, but they're not my only passion!)

And you've all be *SO* helpful....I don't need to go anywhere else!
I like it here!

Sorry for the way you're feeling right now....
I really don't know anything about what's going on w/Jesse.....don't know her too well myself.
I'm just one to always give a person the benefit of the doubt, but then again....I didn't send out any boxes of plants, either.....so I certainly can empathize at this point.

Nan I know what you mean about all the fancy stuff and it is nice to be able to share photos and talk about plants other than AVs- you can always count on Junglebob to post photos of something he's growing. This is an especially fun group. Glad to have your input!

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Yes Nan Thanks you :)) This group is such a caring giving group and when someone ask for help and then they help and don't hear back they worry about that person :((
The other groups print is so small I can harly read it as I use my old computer from bed and my screen is 12-15 feet away so hard to see. Here the writing is nice and big :))
Everyone is kind , fun and caring, giving :))
It's a nice fun active group !

I guess Jesse is finished with us :((

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

Ok guys,

OMG Allison, I am not finished with you guys and never will be. I am okay. I have had a horrible time the past few days. I have been asleep for two days straight. I have a problem when I travel, and that is, I fall asleep while driving. On the way home from Bluebirds on Saturday, I fell asleep over 2 dozen times. I was glad that DH was with me. He kept waking me up. It is so scary when it happens and there is nothing at all that I can do about it. I just pray that I will make it home safely. Luckily this time I did. I have a CPAP machine that I use but I have not needed it in a while. And I'm not sure it it helps in this cituation. This has not happened in many months. Then this past weekend I had to make 3 or 4, I think maybe 4 long trips. The last one to Bluebird did me in and I kept falling asleep. So when I got home, I was so tired. I fell asleep sometime on Saturday and have been sleeping ever since. My new AVs are still in the box. So now I am deciding if I really want to go to CA. They have just moved the office 70 miles away from the house that we stay at. So I will have to take DH to work and back home and I am afraid that I will fall asleep. I just don't know what to do. Oh, his boss let him stay home this week and I was trying to get everything ready for the trip but now I'm not sure that I am going. I want to be with him but I don't think it is a good thing health wise. When I get out of bed I will post photos of my new violets. And I have a lot of extra leaves that need good homes. (I had saved up money in case I ever got to go to a real greenhouse) Finally I can share with you guys. Anyway, I'm still in bed and I have to make a decision about going or staying. It is a very hard decision for me and I cry a lot over it. I don't want DH to feel rejected but I really don't think it is a good thing for me to go. So I will agonize over this and if anyone has any feedback on this, please let me know.

Jesse

Dallas, TX(Zone 8a)

And just because I joined the Brat Pack does not mean that you guys aren't my #1 AV family. I could never leave you guys. So please don't worry about that. I joined because I met two of them at Bluebirds. So they asked me to join. Allison, please do not worry. I am not going anywhere. I will always be a Dave's Garderner first.

I would like to address the issue of me not having money and then having money. As you may all know, my DH has not been paid for months. And he had promised me that if he got some money that he would give me some to spend on plants. Well, he finally got some and gave me a little money which I used on supplies an AVs. Yes I know it was probably a bad move but I just could not resist. And you all know how it is when you get in a place that has lots of violets. Well I have never been to one before and I got a little carried away.

Anyway, I have slept for the past two days or even longer. I have been in lots of pain with my back, my knees, and my fibromyalgia. I am talking to you all from my bed using my laptop. Hopefully I can get up soon. I love you guys, I really do, and that is not going to change. Just because I signed up at the Brat Pack does not mean that you guys are not important to me. I wil call DG home, especially the AV forum.

BTW, I got all my plnts for $4. She did not charege me extra for the Russians or the space babies. So that is how I got them all cheap.

Well, I love you guys and you will always be my AV family.

Spider, I did not receive you dmail.

Jesse
