Yes, I am Decumbent, but only because "Snakebark" had already been taken. And I've never even seen a post from the guy. But never mind me, I'm just bitter. Anyway, got to see a pretty good-sized "White Tigress" Sunday at Dawe's Arboretum, and I got a few decent pictures.

I would have been Snakebark if it hadn't already been used
Very nice bark! Very nice photos! Good job!
You've been busy lately, Snakebreath!

Scott, Sorry I am late responding to your thread. What exactly is a 'white tigress'? I have a Acer pennsylvanicum that I purchased 7 years ago from FF and is now starting to show the characteristic striping. Not as big as your pic, but it serves as the centerpiece of my hosta and fern garden just to the north of the house. Ken
Ken, up there you should try A. spicatum too, if it's not there already. Beautiful rugose foliage, fantastic fall color, very cold hardy. That's one of the few trees that you can do better with than those of us in warmer climate zones. I grow it here, but it's on a cool north slope and gets some extra water during our summer droughts.
White Tigress is a hydrid cultivar derivative of A. tegmentosum.

I'm not sure anybody is exactly sure the heritage of "White Tigress." My guess is there is some A. rufinerve in it too. At any rate, it's a hybrid snakebark and seems to have hybrid vigor, although most snakebarks seem to be fairly rapid growers. WT is easily the most available snakebark around here, although A. tegmentosum "Joe Witt" is suddenly out there making the rounds.
Here are a couple of pictures of Acer spicatum leaves I took this week.
