Langley sounds like its a few years behind Port Townsend. We loved it there but the economy is geared for tourism, boat trade, retirement or artist type hippies. It's getting harder and harder for families to be about to afford living there. We moved here because of the of the work. The price of houses has skyrocked. I only wish we had our home there still. We talked to a gal who was looking at a new housing deveopment 3 years ago and the houses were around $179,000. now they are listed for about $500,000. http://www.umatillahill.com/ Really nice houses but tiny tiny yards. We heard that folks are buying up old houses, bulldozing them and building new homes. Paying at least 500k for the old houses. The rich are taking over the place and average families can't afford it much longer. When a town becomes a tourist trap the resident become the novelty that people come to stare at. It's becoming a very trendy place and loosing some of its charm.

Sage, I'm not sure where Benton City is? I'm giving you the easyest directions to get to Dougless Falls Camp ground. then after your there you can go the south end way to town. I'm going to start you off in Colville. Go north on main hwy. 395. Go past Wall mart and all the strip malls and stores. You want to watch for Williams Lake Road and turn Right on it.I'm not good at miles but it's a few tell you come to the first paved right turn. Gillette Road. Go about a mile, past some houses and you come to like a 3 way intersetcion, keep to the right. It's like a curve but it puts you on Douglas Falls Rd. Follow that down a few more miles and the camp is on the right. You can go back to town going straight past the camp also. Let me know if you get over there and how ya like it? We love it there.
