yes please :-)

I'm sending out some trades this week, so I should be able to get started on DG trades next week.

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

There is no hurry.
I still need a want list from you though...So I know what goes in your pile :)
I will put number 3 on your list and keep it seperated so I don't forget.

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Umm....I'd love to have 4, 5, and 7, but wonder if I'd have anything that you'd be interested in.

I only have a few named AV's, but have other tropicals and Brugmansias.
What else are you looking for, Lorry?

(If you find someone else interested in the meantime, don't worry about passing me by!)

What *is* #3....is that a Pilea?

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Hey Nan.
I have no idea what any of them are. I got them in a lot :)
You have some things on your trade list I would be interested in
the epidendrum
the carnosa hoya
the psychopsis
So if you want to work out a trade :) I am sure we could figure it out :)

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Lorry what is number 9 ? I really like the color :))

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

OK! Good deal!

That durned Psychopsis cost me an arm and a leg and does *nothing* for me....so it's yours!!
(It had a rough winter, but has new growth, so should do well for you.)

My Hoya carnosa (and I have others, BTW!) was my grandmother's plant and is 100+ years old!

The weather's looking up around here, too, so might even be able to send out this week!

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

In case Lorry's not sure (AV's arent my specialty but many other tropicals are!) it's Iresine herbstii.

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

I think that is Jacob's coat Allison.
That can be grown outside here..>Did you want it?
Or what Nan said probably LOL..this is a guess on my part :)

Nan..I have strawberry's and cream hoya....I LOVE hoya..Would you also like a cutting from that one?
Very cool history Nan :) I wish I had a plant like that from my grandmother but both of mine had a brown thumb!

Just let me know when your weather will be warm enough to ship and send me your address. :) I will get it out as soon as you are ready :)

I keep my orchids outside here...we have a good environment for them :) I just ignore them and they seem to do fine :)

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

I think I have that one, Lorry, but thanks so much for offering.

I have some other hoyas, too, maybe you'd like a 'variety' of cuttings?
Some of my plants are small, though!

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Oh I love all hoya though I dont' have much of it now.
I would be happy to send you some AV or chirita leaves for other cuttings if you would like :)

SW, WI(Zone 4b)

Alrighty, then I'll get working on that!

Glad I have something you'd like!

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Lorry, if you have anything really small that would do well in with some moss (I'm guessing it will be a pretty "shady" terrarium) I'd love it!

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Erm..dont' know Raingazer. I have a light on my terrarium..and so far these are the only extra plantas I have.
I am ordering sinningia micro minis and minis but as of now..I don't have any of those to share.

I'll have to look up what moss needs. I found some in the very back part of our yard growing on an old, rotting log. It's in dappled, mostly shade. It's so pretty, I've decided I want to add it to my terrarium, if it will work. I know Rob has something on his site about moss. I'll go see what he says about it.

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

I have never used moss ..so I don't know. I do know it can be used though and I think some gessies would work ok.
How small of a plant do you need? what size is the terrarium?

I'm not sure. Maybe a 5 gallon. It's not as big as my kids' 10 gallons. It's glass with metal "trim" at the edges, so I'm pretty sure it is actually a terrarium, rather than an aquarium. I couldn't talk my son out of this 10 gallon aquarium. LOL I'll measure it and post the size in a little bit.

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

LOL...you are too funny :) I have a 20 gallon long so some of mine are larger..if I ever get the mini sinningia to propogate I will share those though.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

RG, I've got more Torenia seedlings started than I can use... I grow it as an annual, but it's actually a tender perennial. It did great last year in the (relatively) moist shade under my garden bench, so I bet it might be a good terrarium plant... I think they got about 8 inches high & wide, but a smaller pot might dwarf them a little... anyway, I'd be happy to pop one into your trade box. I saved seeds separately from blue, pink, and purple ones, but I have no idea if the colors will come true or if they're just all mixed.

Lorry I been reading lots of my old GSN Mags and on LL says sinningia micro minis and minis need high light.

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Right :) my terrarium is lighted and right now..I have a sinningia (Cherry sprite) that seems very happy in there.
I am not planning to mix the sinningia in the terrariums...so I will put them under lights.

OK I finally got it measured. Approximate measurements are 14 inches long x 8 inches wide x 10 inches tall. It's a small one, but I figure it's a place to start.

Torenia would be great, Jill! I've got some seeds for some that I was just going to plant outside. I'm not having very good luck seed starting. I've killed all but two Rose of Sharon (and to say they're thriving would be a lie). I was using peat pellets and they kept mildewing and were way too wet. I've got peat pots now that I'm going to use potting soil in and try again.

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Lorry I'd love Jacob's coat :)) Of no one else wants it.

Frederick, MD(Zone 6b)

RG, they've been added to your list! If I could make a suggestion... I've never had much luck with peat pots... They dry out more quickly than plastic, and many plants have a hard time pushing their roots through them as advertised... If you do use they, be sure to break out the bottom & sides of the pot a little at transplanting time.

Thank you, Jill!
Hmmm, well, maybe I won't use the peat pots, either. I got those because I read somewhere on the vast internet that morning glories don't like to be transplanted and they suggested planting those seeds in peat pots so the roots wouldn't be disturbed. Gee...I try to do things right... LOL I'll figure it all out one day! I didn't like the Jiffy pellets AT ALL. I won't use those again, either.
