>>>
I love Longifolia leaves there are not many AV's with them !
The oldest I think is
Blue Longifolia Crenulate (56) 04/28/1950 (C. Ogelby) Single medium blue. Longifolia. Large
Sure, not mine but their in my FC I know I grew them by leaf before.
P. Harris has progated a lot of trailers. Sweet Sam, Sweet Amy Sue, Tick Tock Trail ,The Madam ,Summer Stars ,Summer Dawn ,Ellie Gardner and so many more.
I've heard of Sweet Nelie but can't find it yet.
Most likly your Jolly Lovey is by Pittman. I have a Pittman AV I can't find info on .
my gosh..i'm tired just lookin at wheelbarrel full....8))........
I'm with bob... and envious of all the growing space you must have. wow.
AWWWWWW!!!! You lucky thing!!!
Wow!
I love the Pearcea hypocyrtiflora...hadn't seen nor heard of that!
And the Neon Fantasy is fabulous! Appropriate name!
(sigh) Biscayne trail.....I got that one from a friend a couple of years ago and promptly killed it.....never did figure out what happened!
What a haul!! SOO envious :-)
WOW, they are beautiful but Cirelda is stunning. I am treasuring the leaf you sent me from it.
I emailed Lynn Lombard of the Sacramento AVSA and asked if she knew anything about the one I bought named Jolly Lovey and here's her reply.
Jolly Lovey is a brand new semimini from Hortense Pittman. I just leaves this past spring. I haven't seen it bloom and it didn't come with a description. You and I will have to be surprised together ~ and I've never been disappointed in a Pittman plant!
Yes I figured it was Pittman. I have some named Pittmans with no info and I enjoy all their plants !
I just about gave you the info above. lol now we have someone second it :))

Yea, I was really hoping for a description, reg # or something. I guess it will be a surprise. I also wasn't sure of th handwriting, what the name was even.
Does this gal have a website? It would be nice to aske her personally.
Well H. Pittman has 563 plants in FC. Many noy registered. 14 Jolly Av's - None registered.
I keep looking in my old magazines to see if I can find my Pittmans's not in FC.
Seems like most of pittmans Av's are older. Late 70's , 80's yes 90's and even some 2000 but not many. And most of them are not registered and most of them I would love to have. Baby Moonbeam, Wonderous girl are two of Pittman. And the beautiful Alamo 's. Your Winnergreen you like "Winnergreen (4693) 12/21/1981 (H. Pittman) Double white, green, and lavender frilled. Light green, ruffled. Semiminiature
and so many more . I wish I had them all all Pittmans plants are great. I just keep looking !
I'm hoping to put your box together tonight or in the a.m. so I'll take leaves of all the Jolly's I bought, what were there, like three of them. (gotta go scroll up to remember)
I sure wish I had FC. I have my DH's old laptop but it's kaput so maybe if I just have it fixed I can keep it just for that. So frustrating not having that info the way you FC'ers do.
Hey, you know what Ali, You know how my Ellie Gardener is solid green and it's supposed to be a standard, but mine is teeny like a semi or mini, well the leaf I put down has ALL variegated babies! How about that!
NOT even one smidgin of variegation on the mom. Weird. It's like a sport to solid green and the leaf is going back to normal. Weird huh?
this is genetics for you Begonia. the babies are expressing the genes that the mom carries but does not show.
Yes this happens all the time. Remeber when you were here you were looking at all my Ellie Gardner Babies all variegated . Though mom was not. I bought mine same place as you. It was always blooming love it's flowers . I sent Mom to April and kept two leaves all babies variegated.
Seems most older plants lose their variegation for one reason or another beacause of their enviroments.
But the babies most likly are always variegated.
Now weird I ordered a named Trail Bluebirds did not have. They sent me a trailer. Tulsa Trail. It had deep dark evergreen leaves. She said she bought it at a show and fount out it was not on FC. I gave many leaves away and took the large plant apart and made smaller plants. My adult plant turned deep pinks and other variegated colors. Now that it is getting warm it is losing some colors. I showed it and told you about it when you were here. Libbie said she thinks it has deep burgundy flowers but it has never bloomed.
Things like too much nitrogen, too much light, too warm .. are some things that can take variegation away.
Ali, check your regular email. I sent you a PDF file with ALL of H. Pittmans descriptions. I'll be adding the link to the stickies asap.
Well don't you have all the luck! Man I am so jealous! I understand there is still some hope for a show here, but I will not be holding my breath. All of those are gorgeous! I bought Saphire Ice leaves from that leaf lady in CA, rooted but no babies yet.
So did you have to take out a second mortgage on your home?
