I was hoping some one would be familiar with this species of manzanita. Does it need cool summers? Here in Maryland we have very hot summers, would it be best if I grew this in part shade and in a pot so I can shelter it if it decides to rain a lot this spring/summer?

And can it really survive here in our zone 7 winters??

Any other cultivation tips?
