Finally. I took a picture of the fanatically fluffy red thing (Anthoflores Noid), but forgot the Chimera. I'll get it.
You don't happen to have room for more trees, do you, Bob?
Allison; I have 'Fantasy Radiance' leaves down for you so I can send you a plant some day, but I will send you a leaf sooner. I had better not take any more AVs than what you have set aside already! It's just too much what I ahve going on around here...
Kenton
Niod:
anthos flores av's and their HEAVY soil...
Kenton...don't have a lot of room..but what did you have in mind 8)
Jacaranda mimosifolia seedling. (only a few inches tall now) Who could resist a blue-flowering ferny-leaf tree?
Allison, not so much wet, but packed down very firmly- hard to describe, wonder if it was more a result of shipping and time- I barely pack mine down when I repot- just enough to keep the plant from falling over. I water mostly from the bottom, but had recently watered from the top- soil drench for gnats, possibly that could have been part of why they were packed down. I noticed 2 plants I bought on Ebay from same seller were packed and when I repotted found the bottom 1/4 of the cup filled w/ nothing but perelite- the roots didn't look as healthy to me as the roots that were in mine and those that you sent.
Anyway, I have repotted and decided to stick w/ 1 fertilizer for a bit, perhaps that was some of the problem, don't know. We shall see and of course, I will keep you posted!
kenton...i have one..but i love them and would love to have one more....did you know they root very easily from cuttings?....
April! I owe you some plant material too. Let me see if I'm sending you anything more than 'Blue Dragon'... Would you like me to send yours Monday? Please quarantine them, as I'm growing them with a bunch of other types of plants.
Bob, I didn't know that. The seeds were a gift from someone, I have no business having them at all, but I'm keeping one plant and given the rest away to warmer climate folks.
Kenton
Kenton..would be delighted to have one...i will plant it in my friendship garden area until it gets bigger...how r the baldy cypress doing...the "knee roots"..are just dreadful...it's a glorious tree but the root system unstoppable....
WOW Kenton your Blue Dragon is big enough to be away from Mom ? Gosh you just got the leaf in December ! You sure can grow them Kenton WOW !
Just enough, Allison. I haven't divided one for her yet, so I hope I'm not getting the horse behind the cart.
Bob: The two tiny ones, I think, dried out at just the wrong time and died. One glorious one (enough for me) is growing handsomely in a tall tube pot. I gave away the best one, dormant, to a nice chap in Oregon who sent me Ginkgo seedlings. Thanks greatly. It is too dry here and the roots will act differently, garanteed.
That's so great Kenton ! I have a couple Blue Dragon babies too I am going to put in their pots today for sharing but it will be a couple weeks before their big enough for shipping if anyone wants to adopt one :))
