I've always heard it's best to plant trees in fall, is it OK to plant them in spring though?
Planting Crepe Myrtles in Spring OK?
Crape myrtles are tough plants. I have planted them at all times of the year. Just make sure the roots don't dry out before it can get established.
I have planted crepe myrtles all times of the year. I planted a few that had been thrown aside by a contractor and left barerooted for a week and they still grew beautifully. They are pretty tough.
The crepe myrtles in New Orleans, along with the live oaks, are the two trees that survived sitting in flood water for weeks. Amazing.
