A western Canadian Round up?

Kalispell, MT(Zone 4b)

thank you annabell52. My DW is dropping me off and waiting for me at Edmonton. If I need anything or if my diabetes is giving me any concerns she can support my travel. If all is OK on I go and she heads home until I call for a pickup where ever. We definatly will be stopping in Calgary on our way up and if your close to Devon we will let you know our schedule.

He's just playing with us Ann. He knows I'm referring to Avon's Skin-So-Soft that I suggested to him in an earlier thread. ;)

I have never used it. I think too many people get excited when they sell makeup. So I don't believe them. Though a good hat that sits off your head and a tight elastic bottom on your netting works well. I don't like the deet cause I think it tells the critters you are coming and I don't see as much. Though it is handy at night around the camp fire. Keep the grizzlies away from the camp.

After living in the arctic and the Yukon, I'd swear by deet. Yes it takes the colour off of plastic bags and probably a whole bunch of other things, but it worked the best keeping those mozzies away from me. I did resort to using a hat and net a couple of itmes, but found that the little no see ums still could make it though that. Living in the maritimes, I tried the skin so soft,a nd even watched other folks with those bounce sheets sticking out of their collars to protect them from the bugs. Give me deet any time. I figure let the big guns do the work, and then I wouldn't suffer too much from the bites.

ahh a vote for Deet. I agree. don't lick your lips. Black flies have been found buzzing in my stomach. they can get anywhere. They have to be from hell God didn't make them.

Calgary, AB(Zone 3a)

I vote for Deet too Stave. I seem to be one of those who attracts mosquitos so I keep a spray bottle in the car in the season and spray myself whenever I take the dogs to the off leash park. Otherwise it is hell!

I will D-mail you my phone numbera and address. Any idea yet when you are coming?

I should prolly make note here that my suggestion was made tongue-in-cheek. ;)

I know Sue that you were. You live with the varmints. Carol I won't know when until my sister-in-law schedules her arrival here then I can depart after she leaves. She would love to paddle the N Sask. though not my DW she is smarter than all of us. I just want to do the David Thompson thing so when in heaven I can share my trip with him. He has some good stories to tell me. I can't wait.

heaven eh???

smart woman your wife

and yes we are close to devon, my ponies live on the devon highway near the airport

and the way things are in alberta (otherwise known as god's country) if you stop in calgary, YOU MUST STOP IN EDMONTON otherwise the precarious karma of rivalry will have been permanently altered
