GRENTHUMBS: wouldn't a typical black trash bag do to cover them and weight it down at the ends with a rock or some bricks or do you just have too many areas to be running around in the dark?
Do any of you do this silly thing?
I used up all the black trash bags I had. The running around in the dark isn't the problem, the skunk is. : )
Good luck! I'll be "rooting" for you.
Pixie, Nice photo!! I would love some trillium! What can I give you?
Pirl, I don't think we have any frost in the forecast. Hopefully some rain today, though!
I hope we get rain. I'm bone tired from 24 hours of gardening from Saturday through yesterday. I'd welcome it and we really do need it.
daisygrrl, I too lugged 1/2 my seedlings to Vt as I was afraid of losing them a couple of weeks ago. I decided to divide them and see what happened. Perhaps I could learn to become less neurotic about leaving them. I put the ones staying home in my northeast facing living room on the floor about 4' from the windows and filled the trays with lots of water. As it turned out the 1/2 I left behind did just fine without me continually hovering over them. They were happy. This past weekend I confidently left them all home alone again. They couldn't be better. Now if I could stop the poking and prodding of anything that seems a bit tardy about appearing I would feel I am making personal progress. patti
LOVE the window and the setting. The seedlings and roses are nice, too!
now I definitely feel better!!
Patti, What a beautiful home! Nice decorating touch too.
I moved the kids out of the living room to the porch yesterday. They had their first night out last night and all seem fine. But I started another tray of seeds (mostly bi-annuals to tuck in later this summer) so the living rm will remain a nursery for awhile longer. It looks nice now, but we suffered a terrible amount of water damage a couple of years ago when a pipe broke while we were away, so everything was ruined. We had to move out for a year. Here are some shots of part of the nightmare( we lost two floors, but its all better now) patti
Too scary! Glad things have improved a lot.
GLORIOUS! It's perfect. I love it.
On the other hand I wouldn't call it "lucky". Friends like yours don't just happen. You work at a friendship. You listen, you help, you make life sweeter and they return the favor. I'm very happy for you.
Luck is a winning lottery ticket but you're the one who made the friends who built the wall that makes you happy!
I agree Arlene. I will add that good friends are hard to find. Even with the work put into it. Friendship is a two way street.
Yes, Anita, I agree. We can all just try so long and so hard. Once in a while we have to just walk away as much as it hurts....and it really does.
One DG person said something so touching about a friendship: "You just shouldn't have to work THAT hard at it". I'm happy to say she seems to have resolved differences and she and the other DG person are very good friends again.
Nice wall Yankee Cat! Your friends seem to have some skill as well as being nice.
I enjoy the fact that it's not overdone and looks so natural.
