I do NOT like this white stuff !
Heather
This morning in Victoria !
Can't say I blame you Heatherbelle. It must be just awful when you aren't used to it.
That is very sad looking.
BTW did Brugcrazy's area get it too?
I bet you are all saying "suck it up !!) LOL. :->
Heather
ROFLMBO Us????????????????????????? ;) Picture a little halo here!
Pam, I think it must be a pretty teeny halo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HA HA
Glenda
Heather, loooks like you had more snow than we did. We didn't have anything last night at all. Still have a bit of leftover from yesterday morning. And it was darn cold( for here )last night!!
Glenda
Actually the snow has all gone now. That's Victoria for you ! I very nearly never went to work this morning - there was AT LEAST a half an inch on the ground !!
Can you believe this time last year we were all gearing up for our round-up. Golly I miss all that excitement.
Heather
Yep I look at the pic and remembering praying BC would be spared the above so we could see her in all her springtime glory. You and Linda made it fantastic Heather! On another note the snow does help protect your beauties (to a certain extent).
Pam working on polishing out some spots on her halo. ;)
I very nearly never went to work this morning - there was AT LEAST a half an inch on the ground !!
p.s. just wait until Ontario's Ginny sees the above. ;)
So Heather, did you go out with your blow dryer to melt it all away? (my halo is put up on a shelf in the closet until I need it)
When zone 8 drops to zone 4 I feel for you Heather. Ohhhhhhh dear.
Ok - all halos well and truly polished ! ( But I can see you all with your tongues in cheeks)
And, you know, I didn't have to use my hairdryer, echoes, I just blew on it after having my morning tea ! :-)
Heather
(PS. I'm surprised Linda hasn't jumped into this one)
Heather I really feel for you but can I trade you...I am in Alberta and we just got dumped on yesterday ( about 4 inches) and we are suppose to get more for the next 4 days...We are having winter now and I don't like it either.
Rosedale........would you be situated near Drumheller kinnika?
Heather my tongue is bleeding now. ;)
And it was darn cold( for here )last night!!
I'm not sure I should really tell you Pam!!!! LOL LOL
Let me just say that we still have our temporary water line on top of the ground(for several years now!!!!) and there was a slight problem getting water going this morning. Also had ice on the pond. Frozen bird bath. Still snow hanging around.
I walked up to the top of the driveway at 7:30 AM in my nightie and housecaot and BIRKS and my little toesies were chilly when I got back to the house.
Need I say more?????
I can just see all you guys out there rolling on the floor laughing at Heather and I!!!!!!!
ggd
LOLOL..........Laughter is good for the soul Glenda!
p.s. at times I have a *really* hard time believing you came from SK!!! ;)
Pam you as a gardener you cannot be critical of someone who moved FROM SK TO VANCOUVER when considering gardening. I think ggd is a wise gardener.
LOLOL Oh I'm not (half of BC is from here;).......her memory of what is cold however is a little foggy. ;)
Oh no, my memory of cold is VERY clear. After all, I was out there in Saskatoon two years ago during the coldest week of the year. It was 40 below the whole time I was there. SURE WAS COLD!!!! That was a good reminder for me of the cold that we used to live in, and the amount of snow we used to put wtih!!!
Hang in there people!!! Spring is on the way!!
ggd
LOLOLOL that it is! :) BTW I just posted a pic of what 2-3 inches of snow really looks like on the ground. ;)
Yes Lilypon I am about 4 kms. from Drumheller..Have you been here? I own a business in Drumheller..
It is one of our fav holiday destinations.......I think we've taken the kids there at least 7 times. Marango (sp) was the furthest west my husband's territory was when we lived in the Battlefords and we'd just continue on. We LOVED visiting the strawberry patches there, the Museum (of course;), the little greenhouse on the way to Wayne, ALL the little bridges to get there (and the bar......DD had her first legal drink at it ;). My DD is attending college near you now. I LOVE camping there.
Oh yeh we also had a ride on the hoovercraft before it went belly up.
If you don't mind me asking......which business?
Well you know the area well..I have been here for 26 years and I love it.I am a transplant from Radium Hot Springs...I live on the way to the swinging bridge in Rosedale..I was born and raised in Unity Sask so I know your area a bit...I am the proud owner of the Pet Shop in Drum and this is another thing that I truly love..It is kind of a neat shop as we have more then Pets as the name says (Pets Plants (n) Things) I don't have a lot of plants because we have so many outlets for them in town but we do have planters that my hubby and I make..we also have willow feeders and baths in in the winter...we call it our fun house....so please if you are out this way again stop in and say HI...
Heather I'm here.
I was in Vancouver for the past week seeing the sights of VGH. Now I'm primed and ready to get to work in the garden.
I think our nick name of Lotus land should be changed to Loonie land. This weather sure isn't what is usual for us.
It's MARCH for heavens sake.
We braved the roads last evening. there must have been 2 mm of wetness so we put the chains on the pickup. No sense in waiting for the snow to add up. We went out to dinner with some friends at a restaraunt looking out over the inner harbour and hte parliament buildings. The lightening and thunder lasted for a couple of hours while we were there, and the ground turned white with hail. Thanks heavens for those chains and our mukluks or else we might have had chilly toes like Glenda. The drive home, we had to look out for all the boy racers that were playing in the 1/2 cm of slush on the road. Again I was so pleased that I had the chains over my studded tires, and my winter survival pack in the truck, with this weather we didn't know if we'd make it home! By the time we did manage to make it home, it was like a winter wonderland. There must've been 1 cm of snow in the yard, but it was beautiful when lit by the lightening that was continuing. We made it safely up the walk with out falling, thanks to our birks ahem I mean our mukluks. I'm so glad we cut the lawn 2 weeks ago, but it's time again. I guess the golfers will have to wait a few days till their next tee off. Life is sure rough out here.
Nice to be back posting and feeling,
Linda (sitting on her halo)

Linda you are killing me here! :')
Pets Plants (n) Things....Imma pretty sure we visited your shop kinnika. Plants n' Pets would cause me to have DH hit the brakes immediately. The last time we were there we went to your swinging bridge. The kids had a blast climbing the hills behind it and I love exploring the river bed (always hoping to scare up a frog;). You'll be seeing me there again soon (we have to move DD eventually :).

Okay I have to admit something here I am also finding the fact of studded tires and chains kind of comical as I look out my window..But for those of us still in winter here is a cheery sight..This little guy showed up in the middle of a storm and has visited my yard for his raisins and grapes everyday since he came about a week ago...Since then we have had about 4 inches of new snow and some down rite nasty days.. Take heart Spring is coming.... and coming.... and coming. LOL

Pam you are having a great time rubbing it in, and I admit, it's well deserved. It's good to have a little zonal tit for tat.
Currently: Temperature 6 C
Pressure/ Tendency 100.9 kPa

Dewpoint 0 C
Wind NNE 17 km/h gust 29 km/h
partly cloudy/sunny.
Time to take Cooper to the beach then a run in the field.

Linda (wearing socks only because of the wind!)
Kinnika, that poor robin must';ve got lost he sure looks chilly. (I was telling a little white lie about the chains etc.)
Linda, how big is Cooper now?
:) It makes the looooooooooooong winter pass with a smile Linda. :)
How about the mukluks - were they for real?
