Oh Jo! Thank you. And that's the farthest away we've been asked to play. Does that make us a National Group now??.....lol. KY's so pretty. Just love it there.
Angele - that's too funny! Maynard...... I d-mailed you...
Hi Everyone!
Hey...All our performers are either members of DG, or spouses of a member...they all work cheap...*read FREE* LOL....you don't want to miss our Horseshoe singing "Size Ten's"....and MollyMac...what a voice. Jo, the Elder
Howdy Imafarmer, WELCOME to Daves, the best site on the web... no kidding. You can get a plant identified, or get seeds for one sent to you. Find someone to talk to in the middle of the night... or a bunch to talk all at once on Tues nites and Thurs mornings... we've got market farmers and lily breeders [??], rose enthusiasts, and somewhere in here there will be someone to help you with whatever comes up. From greenhouses to real houses, there is always something or someone to lend expertise.
And when Katrina and Rita struck our friends along the coast - the wonderful, caring, helpful members rallied round.. in fact they are still hunting for the lost to us members. And still helping the survivors.
[BTW, Prissy Jo, I gathered some Desert Willow seeds myself last fall.... ran across them in their envelope just two days ago... picture me standing there trying to remember what the heck they were.] But thanks for the offer.
Roadrunner [another Jo, BTW] is right.... be sure and chk out all the threads on the SWforum... or be like me and just jump in any old where. My weather varies from being similar to you guys to being in the same boat as the Canadians. We get any where from one hundred-teens in the summer to around Zero in the winter. In fact we are known to get a shot of below zero just when we think winter is fading.
This is getting too long, so I'll gather my thoughts. and stop with the rambling. ~Blooms
Prissy Jo, - hope you don't mind but now that I've seen why it's your 'stage' name, I'll just have to call you that. I absolutely adore your stage outfit. And can hardly wait until I [someday] get to hear 'Sweet and Lowdown' play.
And what a darling house, so suited to it's surroundings. Good for you, what a great place, and being able to sell from home is a blessing. You've got a little walled area right up next to the house, is that where you are gardening. Can't wait to see pics. ~Blooms
Hey Blooms ~ you are too cute! and I'm always forgetting to put those gloves on, too. I guess I just like to "feel" everything. What a pretty area you're making there. But tell me, how can you drink coffee and sit down at the same time? lol. I had to switch to green tea!
That's a picture of the house we live in. But because we get the fantastic views, we get no gardening. We're on top of the hill; the hill being made of solid rock. I don't know HOW they built up here. And even raised beds won't do. The winds are too strong. The landscaping that the builders put in is about all that I can do up here. They said they had to get an oil drilling rig up here to dig the holes to put the trees!!! But we do have a little grassy spot for the puppies.
My garden is down at my studio. I'll include a picture of it. It's the schoolhouse turned tiny house, built in the 1900s and moved in the 50s onto the corner of the lot it was on and sold off. That's why it's one block off the main road, hence commercial and I can sell from it. This picture is when we first bought it in June and I'm just now starting to do the gardening. I've got a couple of raised beds built in the back so far; it's fenced. But it's on Luckey Street so I feel very lucky about that. lol
Jo(E) ... for elder, you're always having so much fun!!
....LOL
I LOVE the little house...I'll have to come and sell some of my crafts in it!
Jo, E
That's awesome JoE! What crafts are you doing?
I am into Gourds right now...and dream catchers made from Devil's Claw plant...some "baggies" to store your plastic grocery bags in...they call me the Bag Lady...LOL I do some of the dish towels to hang in your kitchen to wipe your hands on...JoE
Wow. You do a LOT of things. That's very cool. Bag Lady..... lol Well, I guess that's better than dish towel lady or devil's claw lady. :>)
Go to the Ornamental Gourd Forum to see some beauties some of the DG'ers have made. JoE
Jo, have you posted a picture of your Devil,s Claw Dream Catchers? I 've seen baskets and would love to see what you've done.
Angele
