Hi morning glory fans,
last year I inherited some morning glories and they were so pretty I have decided to try a few more varieties. The ones I already have are: Grampa Ott, a blue one that I think is 'Heavenly Blue', and a VERY vigorous pale pink variety with white seeds and short stiff hairs on the stems and leaves. I have traded for a few packets of mixed varieties and some yellow ones. I have a new chain-link fence where I think they would be very happy. If I plant more than one variety along the fence will they hybridize? I would like to collect the seeds next fall and I wouldn't mind a few hybrids but I would like to have some offspring that look like the parents.
Does anyone know where to get the purple ones with white markings? They're very pretty but I can't find a vendor who sells those varieties.
Here's a photo of an unusual looking blue flower from last summer.

A link to a picture of the ones you are looking for would be great too :)

Hi Janis,
I thought I had a picture of the vines climbing our young maple tree but I can't find it. The flowers look just like the photo in your post.
I'm not looking for any specific variety of purple and white flowers, I've just seen some in the plant files that have white stripes or a white lip. I like yours and I would be happy to trade for some of my pinks. I would like to trade for around 30 seeds but I have more if you have larger packets already made up.
Thanks
Janel
30 sounds great to me! Are you in the address exchange yet? If not, Dmail me your address and I can get these out tomorrow morning! Thanks!
Janis
Yep I'm in there, I'll send out your packet in the morning.
Thanks
That is a pretty one.
I have Scarlett O'Hara and she is a hot pink / magenta not red, but i really like that soft pink!!
