Come Still a Spell - March 4th

Dallas, TX

Have you been there (Rome) too Mitch?
Sylvia

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

I have been through there - my sister lived there for a while. A stunning city, we traveled through Rome on or way to Swaziland and South Africa.... Please take your time at the Vadican - there is something there for everyone. We loved the trip to Pompei - that was something wonderful we will never forget. You are going to love it - all of it.

Hey guys, my brother passed this morning, please keep his wife in your prayers.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

I am so sorry to hear about your brother Sylvia. I know you got to visit with him recently though, I hope that will comfort you. You and his family are in my prayers.

Dallas, TX

Thanks guys ...and yes Shelia going to Tampa was a smart move. Stilll ... I hate I wont be at the services. But Michael (my brother) insisted that I go and he said dont worry about him, he will be fine. I just think I am feeling all alone right now, left here all by myself. and my being the oldest just dont feel right. I do have another brother, but he is nowhere to be found. He is a lost soul anyway. My dad just died about three years ago and he was an only child, so I dont have any relatives on his side. Now there is my Mom's side of the family, I got a bunch of first and second cousins there in Miami...so I guess I best get to know them better.
I am sorry guys, I dont want to put a damper on anyone's feeling, I am just here .....
Sylvia

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Sylvia - no damper, you are in our prayers and our thoughts. You have a great big family on here and we are all right behind you. Mitch

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

When are you leaving for Rome? Can you fly out of Miami?

Houston, TX(Zone 9a)

I'm praying for you and your family, too, Sylvia.

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Oh Sylvia, I am so sorry to hear about your brother. Please don't feel alone, we are all here with you, and we're praying for you and your family (especially your brother's wife.) I wish could come give you a hug! Consider yourself well hugged. ((((Sylvia))))

Don't be afraid to say how you are feeling.

Love,
Maggie/Mary

Hi thanks for your thoughts, but I am feeling better today, even tho I am totally confused and so tired. Everybody is calling me for details....my father's other son , whom is really big in the funeral business, flew from Miami to Tampa this mornings to handle the arrangements.... this is a good thing. ...so now there are going to be two funerals one in Miami and in Tampa. I am inudated with phone calls at home and at work from all over country....asking me why I didnt tell them ... most dont understand why I am not going to be there. I was told I had to write the Obituary, which took me until Two am this morning. also I would have been ok missing the services in Tampa, dont know anyone there. ...but Miami! its going to on the news that I am not there. Also someone in Miami found my missing brother, needing to know how he is going to get there and what is he going to wear...its a mess...what made me think I had no problems with leaving for Italy? Shelia, on my return my half brother wants me to take a plane from Atlanta to Tampa on the 18th and he will hold the body for two day for me to see him, I dont want to put my SIL through that, its bad enough she has to sit through two funerals. Anyway I am a lot better now. and the OB was a hit, everyone thought it was funny....lol

Sylvia, it is Comfort Suites I am staying at, not Quality. They were a bit pricey or didn't have two beds or something. Here is their link.

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

LOL! I hadn't noticed until a few minutes ago! I knew you were going to get rid of the dog's name, but wasn't watching for it! LOL!

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Welcome back Sylvia. Did you get soaked like Mitch?

Mary Lee

Conroe, TX(Zone 9a)

Sylvia! Looks like you had a great time, and your new name suits you! Glad you're back safely.

Dallas, TX

Shelia its not a dog name, its a cat! LOL and his name is really Sedric. I had to add that k to make up seven letters. Also I got to get moving on that reservation. I never cancelled the other and I dont have the information anymore. I have has some tumultious times here lately just too much was happening at one time. I will take care of it tonight.
Mitch I just found two more Daylillies, still wrapped up and growing like crazy. All that time and they are still alive.
Marylee I had no idea of what was going on right here in my area, down by Turtle Creek. all that flooding and a girl drowned! The thunder and lighting knocked my PC out a couple of times, but I didnt see the storm warnings until later. I was in here rubbing down with BenGay trying to get my arthiritic body back into some kind of shape. Next time will some please tell me what a pilgrimage is. lol
I was crippled the whole time, I could hardly get off the bus and then I could barely walk and could not keep up with everyone else.
When we got to Assisi, it was raining something terrible. After the Mass I went down in the tombs with St Francis to stay warm and wait for the bus to return. lol
Mitch, Josephine I never been to so many Mass's in all my Catholic life, sometimes two a day! Would you believe I fell asleep waiting for the Pope's blessings... sitting among 60 thousand people? lol I was a mess! lol Then those cobblestones inside the Vatican, they were murder to walk on, my body was totally jarred. I realize I was supposed to be insprired, but I was ornery the whole time.lol I missed the Cistine(? chapel, that was the day after we left Assisi and I stayed in my room.... but ... it didnt matter ... 2 oclock, another mass at the Vatican and I had to walk on those cobblestones again. LOL
...and yes Maggie ...with all my moaning and groaning I would not have missed that expierence for nothing in the world.
...and ohhh you just got to taste the ice cream in Rome, it is the best ice cream I ever ate in my life and the Cappucino put Starbucks to shame ... but I dont think I will ever eat Pasta again! lol

Lindsay, OK(Zone 7a)

Sounds wonderful... I have heard the cobbles at the Vadican make it very hard to walk, they are from the Roman era right? I know parts are from the Holy Land itself... just think of all the people who have walked were you walked...

Dallas, TX

Yeah! Sure! Thanks Mitch! Thats makes me feel a lot better! LOL

Fort Worth, TX(Zone 8a)

OH, sorry Sylvia....LOL....I knew you said it was your animal's name, sorry! I think I am getting senile and can't remember details sometimes. LOL!
They would have given you a confirmation number by email if you made it online. I will D-mail you some information, phone numbers, etc.

Fredericksburg, TX(Zone 8a)

Sylvia, I'm glad you had a memorable time in Rome. Your comments on the cobblestones brought back memories of my two trips to the hospital when I was pregnant with my son. We were living in Mannheim, Germany and the military hospital was in Heidelberg. When labor started we packed up and left for the hospital and drove over those cobblestone streets that surround the hospital (it's in a very old part of the town). I wasn't far enough along, so the doc sent me home. A few hours later, we were driving over those same cobblestones with more intense labor pains and I was not a patient new mom by this time.LOL
