I loved this one, but it had no name and I saw no other one like it.

Laurie was an enabler. Luxurians jumped into my shopping cart despite all my resistance. I've been able to resist her arm-twisting on African violets thus far.

I resisted this beauty as well.

Welcome home Butch!! Looks like you guys had a blast!! I hope you know that everyone here are sooo envious, in a good way!! Thanks guys for all the wonderful pictures. Kinda makes me feel that I was there!! Anyway, keep the pics coming and we want to know everything about this past week! ~ Kristi

I do not think I could stand the thrill of being there. What beauties. I just love the terrarium one as well as all the others.

Was anyone giving out any good growing advice? They sure seem to know what begonias love.

Lali, I have not gone out yet to car, will go out and get info soon. They came from Rancho Soledad. A nursery I want to go move into.

Kell, after I picked my drool covered chin up off the floor at PHOE, I was in such sensory overload, that I wandered around in a begonia enduced haze. Then on the second day at PHOE (and believe me I could have stood a 3rd or 4th or 5th - you get the idea) I brought cameras. I didn't even realize how much I missed on the 1st day.

So second day I came home with twice as much stuff. Butch, I'm going to grow a b. maculata for you and send it to you! I know you wont resist if I do that! he he he. I'll put a little african violet in the mix too. Any plant person can't resist!

But aren't you glad I twisted your arm on that Luxurians? Hmmm? Just wait till it's huge and the pride of your collection! =)

Laurie,

I will take better care of this luxurians and hope it grows like the dickens this summer. I have maculata but I don't have 'Flamingo Queen'. Hint, hint. If you can grow maculata like the one at the show, I'd be happy to take it off your hands.

Forget the African violet though. It would just get lost amongst the begonia forest and I'd never miss it.

Here is 'Caravan' and the two flavors of thiemei at PHOE (I think it was labeled MacDougalii if I remember right). Luckily I have the one you sent me plus I bought 'Caravan' a month or so ago so those did not jump into the cart.

Wish that caravan was for sale! And I'm going to send PAT the AV so at least you be forced to keep an eye on it somewhere like the kitchen. he he he

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

ok! I'm getting plenty of practice here - tonight, I'm packing up as many begonias into my rubbermaid box as I can fit in it.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh you bought hibiscus too, Lali? Real wild fancy ones?

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

Yup! I bought two. One Chinese Lantern Hib. http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/790/index.html
and another called Hawaiian Sunset I think.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I saw the first one at the Conservatory so of course I had to get one. They are fun!! Mine bloomed all winter in my dining room.
