Kafir lily

Union City, CA(Zone 9b)

OK , the seeds pods have turned red .
Cat broke one off , I broke it open - 3 seeds inside . I put them in supersoil and watered .
What do I do now with others ?
Do I wait for them to split open ? Do they split open ?

I have been sent kafir lily seeds in a trade. Didn't know what to do, so will be waiting to see if you have any replies.

Morning,

Well I was told two different way to grow these...a person I bought them from on eBay said to plant them and put in the dark and it could take up to 16 weeks.

Another person said to plant them as any other seed and wait.

Was also told to plant them right away...not sure why though.

I let me kafir lily (clivia) go to seed and it took a year for the seed pod to mature and I got three babies out of it too. One had sprouted in the pod and I gave the other two away. Mine is the only one that made it and I just planted it like any other seed and it is now I think four years old so maybe this year I will get a flower.

Can hardly wait. Will keep you posted on the progress of my seeds...I have planted the two different ways and will see what happens.

Joanne
