I have a reverse osmosis tank on my sink and I have been boiling the water before I mix it with my soil for seeding. Is the boiling really necessary? I have a culligan softener to my regular water but a RO tank for the drinking water.
RO Water and boiling
I don't know about boiling, but I just add H202 to the water I use for seeds.
From the info on germination, that works for a lot of people.

I don't boil my water .
Our water has some stuff added to kill stuff in water . I have a 25 or 30 gallon bucket I fill with water to water plants with .
I fill 3 watering cans before adding house water to bucket . I use watering cans for seedlings , starting seeds , on orchids and on the plants that hold water in / by stalks . pineapples , kafir lillies , brumileads etc .
