Hi Don,
It sure has been a wet spring....everything is nice and green but we need the sun so everything can grow nicely now.
Come July I will probably be happy to have an overcast day...gets pretty warm in this valley!

Thanks Joanne Wow it's still nice and cool there ! I know years ago when we lived in Maine the only hot month we had was August .
Here as well, it is below average with the rain and cloud cover. Our normals this time of year are around 75 F., but today we had a whoppin' 60F. Here is a synopsis of the summer climate in my zone.
CLIMATE
The Okanagan Valley lies in a rain shadow, between the Coastal and Monashee mountain ranges. This results in very low annual average rainfall. The area between Oliver and the border is the northernmost tip of the Sonora Desert, which begins on the Baja Peninsula in Mexico.
Summers are generally very hot: average temperatures in July and August are warmer than in the Napa Valley. Summer daytime temperatures can reach 40°C, and are often above 30°C for several days in a row.
In the summer, there are long daylight hours and high light intensity due to the northerly latitude. In late June, daybreak is as early as 5 am and nightfall as late as 10:30 pm. This helps with prolonged daytime photosynthesis and grape ripening.

in Farenheit 40 Celsius is 104 degrees
and 30 C would be 84 F. Ü

Thanks Joanne and Don for wonderful info. Love it !
It's still hot here day and night 90's but index is over 100. Thank God for A/C and ceiling fans.
I always have a problem with variegation loss when hot and my plants bloom better when it is cool
