I want to thank whoever suggested orchid moss for propagating brugmansias. I cut 14 stems only two or three days ago, and now all have the beginnings of nubbins. I wonder if it would be as good for hibiscus cuttings?
Orchid Moss
hi gloriag... could you tell me about this orchid moss ,where you get it ,and how you used it to propagate burgs with ,I have a red burg. and they tole me it wasnt easy to make cuttings of them, so when I saw your message it made me think..this might work..
Ginger,
Go to the Brugmansia fourum. There are over a hundred comments on orchid moss. It is under a recent posting about a rooting experiment. Everyone is very excited. It even germinates seeds. Wow!
i've been on there for a couple of weeks and have been reading about it - but I can't find it here ! I have checked all around. If any of you live in the Jackson,MS area and find it, please let me know !
Would some read label of orchild moss and see what in in it . I can't find it either .
I bought it at Lowe's., in Sav.
This is a must. You must wear gloves when handling it because there can be a terrible disease contracted from it. It begins with little bumps three weeks after exposure and progresses to lesions, and (AGHH) possible internal infection. I handled a whole block of it from start to finish before I found the posting on it. I copied the posting to give to my doctor if I get it; she'll never believe it otherwise.
