Coffee's On

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

What word?

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)

*whispering* feral cats...

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Yea, nasty subject. Say no more.

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)

I thought you might agree with me, however you feel free to talk about your cookin all you like...LOLOL!

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

It's a cold, quiet day. Cooking warms the house and feeds the freezer.
I make big batches and freeze individual servings.
It all started with chili and chicken cacciatore. My efforts to use the garden veggies.
It's smelling mighty good in here now, Sidekick Sarah is itching to eat.

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)

I goofed off and ordered a pizza, so I could get some (DG time) laundry done, I'm not a junkie I swear.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

We had Spadini [sister-in-law's Italian]- I love when she makes that!!

Dave - Stollen is a German Christmas Bread - but I love it whenever...

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Hey Anita! Thanks for the explanation.

Andy, You are setting the bar way too high! You are one incredible cook. I picked up on the healthy (organic?) dishes you mentioned previously, now you are getting ethnic! What a guy!

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)

No kidding! Andy, are you avalible for rent by the hour? (for cooking only, Dave not Dave, get your mind out of there!)

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

LOL - gee Dena- you've got Dave's number...

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Who me?

You know that's called projection!

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)

lol, its not a far leap to think thats were that comment was about to go...

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

ya think?

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)

or is it rejection?

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

I better start cooking!

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)

LOL, poor Dave (ND)
Are you going to be ok?
Anita and I should be nicer to you...............*maybe*

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

What, don't you guys cook? McCool does.
If you want to keep those "numbers" in the good zone, it's best to prepare your own food.
"Numbers" like blood pressure, cholesterol etc.....
We should get off this subject or I'll start rambling about bad eating habits. You don't want me to do that.
Andy P

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)

I love to cook, even more, I love to make food for my family with the things I have grown.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Yes, you should be nicer to me. I have no sprouts. My inedibles are failing!

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)

LOLOL!!! OMG!!! It hurts!

Lambertville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Morning everyone. Busy weekend. Moved MIL this weekend. DH took me to a Martina McBride concert last night. Awsome, what a powerful voice she has. I'm off today and need to to lots of cleaning and go to the grocery store.

You all talked up a storm yesterday.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Hi Suzie. Do you get President's day off too?
Dave

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

I didn't (pout) - I had to work. I love Martina's voice!

Lambertville, NJ(Zone 6a)

Yep, had today as a holiday. Spent most of the day running around to with DH. Getting ready to replace some of the water lines in the house. Our house is approx. 200 year old. It had belonged to my grandparents before we moved in. Let's just say not much, if anything, was updated. We've been here for 12 years, and try to do a couple projects a year.

Why is it every story I walk into seems to have a display of seeds to tempt me. Even the grocery store. I was very good today. I have more seed than I can probably deal with already.

Going to Sis's house for dinner in a few minutes. If I don't get back, have a good evening!

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Well, since I had the day off I reenacted each president's inaugural address. Hardly got to thirty and the kids were complaining they were bored and embarrassed in front of their friends... Go figure!?

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)

Dave (not Dave),
I'm embarrassed for them too.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Dave who?

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Suzie - I live in fear of the mention of a seed that I don't have - makes me jump onto one of the seed websites and then I find a whole bunch that I want! Is there a 12-step program for this?

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Anita I think you need G.A.- Germinators Anonymous.

Oh wait; I think thats for gamblers.

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Then you'd better keep me away from Vegas too...I have a weakness for the nickle slots!

Long Island, NY(Zone 6b)

Looks like I'm the early bird - but I'll be nice and save the worm for someone else. It's a bit too early for tequila. So is it spring yet? I want to be able to sit on my patio with my coffee and look at all my flowers! I did notice a couple of the bulbs that had popped up have some yellow tips, but I think they might be ok

I am working in Great Neck today which means I'll have to leave by 8am. One thing good about this holiday week is that the traffic is abit lighter.

So Dena - you sketch? Can you share some of your work with us?
Andy - what's for breakfast?
Dave - you can put on the second pot of coffee - I'm tired and need lots of caffeine this morning.! By the way - you can take the kids to school too.

Suzie - which stories do you find the seeds in? I know about the beans in Jack's story..that was a good one. I wouldn't mind having the goose then I could buy a house in the Outerbanks!

What's everyone else up to?

Lexington, VA(Zone 6a)

No spring here yet Anita - woke up to an inch of snow!!!! Although there are a few yellow crocus blooming - maybe I'll try to get some pics today.

Southern, CT(Zone 6a)

Anita, The kids are on vacation this week! You ought to know that!
In fact they are on their way to NY,NY. I'll put on more coffee.

I always feel like this last month of winter is the longest. That's why Anita and I got married in March (OK, Anita, (NOT ANITA). We head to Disney in 2 or 3 weeks, then hopefully this whole winter thing will be gone. At least we will know any winter weather will be short-lived. Then outside for me!
Dave

Billerica, MA(Zone 6a)

Good morning all.
Got my coffee, the kids are playing quietly (keep your fingers crossed!) and I'm doing some catching up!
Although it seems that everytime I post something here, I always have to leave and put out a fire somewhere in the house.

I'm really looking forward to spring... :-) The fever is upon me!!

Lora

Millbury, MA(Zone 5a)

Funny, I used to be impatient for Spring, but these days everything seems to come too fast and catch me unprepared. The garden never did get its Fall tilling (that's par for the course) so I have all that clean-up to look forward to before I can plant anything. There's always too much to do and not enough time to do it in.

Right now I'm trying to decide how much more caffeine I need to actually wake up. Don't let the fact that I'm here and typing fool you. I just responded to a squacking cat by pouring dry food into her water. Sheesh!

Brockton, MA(Zone 6a)

Spring can't be too far away. I'm starting to hear song birds in the morning. I think it's the mockingbird that hangs around the crabapple and cedar trees. He/she thinks they are his and guards them, good winter food.
My breakfast was the standard weekday bowl of cereal with a sliced banana, Sarah gets the last bite of banana.

Funny thing you should mention your cat, Andy.
Picture this, groggy Dena procariously carring her cup of Coffee (the pressious fluid of life). My objective? Make it to the puter to say good morning to all of you, around the corner and just two more feet to shuffle, out of nowhere comes the cat, to late shes in front of my feet, my left arm rises and tries to steady the cup, while the other pinnwheels in an attempt to save my balence, I can only imagine what my face looked like. I envission it in one of those slow motion replays...I saved my self somehow from hitting the floor, but only managed to recoop half the cup of coffee..............stupid cat ambushed me again!

Appleton, WI(Zone 5a)

Might have been a racoon!

West Warwick, RI(Zone 6b)

Al, I'm sure it was my cat, just look at the distain in those eyes.....LOL!
