I will send you leaves of any of the minis I get Allison :)
I'm very Happy With my New Optimara Plant !
Thanks Laurie i will save it this time ! Thanks Lorry i will wait to see what you get befor i get more so i can share with you too !
They allow you to state preferences..So in there I just posted which opt minis I already have.
So once I get mine..I will send you leaves...perhaps between the two of us...eventually we can get most of em :)
I told them about the two optimara minis I already had and asked them not to put them in my order :) If we both do that when we order..and share leaves :) We can probably end up with double what we would on our own :)
I think next time I am going to order some of their standards also :)
Sound Great !
How did I find this place? You guys are so neat. : ) I love to peek in on the trading, even when I am not involved. : )
We have violet sniffing noses :))
Wow Allison,
That pretty white doily really sets it apart and brings out the color so beautiful!
It looks perfectly symmetrical!
Thank you for sharing it!

Morning Allison,
What a beauty she is....would like to put a bid in for one too when you have some spares! Thank you for sharing it.
Amazing what we will pay for a violet isn't it?
Joanne
Yes she was $12.00 but well worth it. Large , healthy, full bloom and bud. Exclusive to Selective Gardners.
Bells flowers. Shipping was only $7.95. I love everything about her !
$12.00 is not bad two leaves of hers sell for $9.00 same sight. People pay for tiny little dinky plants on Ebay much more. This plant is a joy ! I lobe bell flowers.
I have not put leaves down but will . It will take 6-12 months from the time I put the leaf down for a good size baby to ship.
I'm happy that the plant was as beautiful as the picture. I first saw Annabelle last month but hesitated because of the cold weather to order. I did place an order today.

Oh yes even more beautiful ! Lorry ordered one too !
This is one of a new series. Have you heard anything about any other "Belles"?
They have Issabelle (SP) but only leaves same Southern Belle series. I love bells and these are real bells ! That's all in the series now.I asked.
I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. The only other bell I have is Deer Path Trail. It is beautiful, also.
I fell in love with her too and ordered her ASP then !
I recieved a email today from Selective garden Lorry and any other's that had problems !
>>>
Dear Mrs. Turner,
the Selective Gardener Site is up and working now. The problem was that the programmer was dealing with some sort of e-mail duplication due to the aliases created by the optimara.com website. Since the optimara.com website is also hosting the holtkamp.com, optiflora.com, floremara.com, optimara.info and the selectivegardener.com website in addition to the optimara.com things got a little mixed up. Sorry for the trouble this may have been causing. The programmer tried to filter out the doubling of the same e-mail, but it actually turned off the e-mail transfers to the corret alias.
We hope that this technical explanaition will help in understanding the trouble we we having. If you need to contact my wife Monique at her home office you may do so by calling her at the Selective Gardener phone number 615-309-0594.
Regards,
Reinhold Holtkamp
Well it did finally work for me :) So now just waiting on the plants :)
Allison, are you keeping Annabelle away from your other plants? Is it a good idea even if you received plants from comercial growers?
Yes It's even a better Idea. No mater where you get them from . Isolate. I have also been spraying each one new and old with neem oil top bottom under, leaves and water into soil "__
now that's a good idea!
So how do you spray the leaves without damaging them. I thought that you were not supposed to get water or anything like that on the AV leaves. I have spilled water on mine before but I take a tissue or k-tip and get it right off.

A fine mist that doesn't leave water droplets behind seems to be fine. I do spray in the morning (or when my lights go on.... they're on a reverse schedule now to even out temperatures between day & night) so they will have a good long chance to dry completely. If you get a little too much spray on the leaves (especially the crown), just blot off the excess like you've been doing.
I love that plant, Violet. I have a Rob's pewter bells, and the shape of the flowers is so pretty. one of my favorites. I am going to Nashville at the end of the month with my hubby (conference of his). I guess in my spare time I might be heading on over to the Optimara place....just to look, of course...... : ) yeah, right. : ) I would like to have one of these. If they had something I could take back on the plane. : )
Jesse
It is OK to get African violet leaves wet. They love Baths ! It is a good idea to give your plants regular warm baths ! It the crown gets wet just gently dry it. Don't put them back in or inder lights until their dry or you'll get spots . I'm sure there is lot's of information in our Sticky ( First thread when you come into AV forum)
Jesse
Here is great link on how to bath your AV's :))
http://www.rachelsreflections.com/violets2.htm
It's a great sight with all kinds of info :))
Also when treating for mealing or any kinds of bugs you want to spray top of foliage and under and into doil. Lot's on bugs hide and lay eggs under side of foliage. It does not hurt the foliage !
Allison,
Thanks so much for the information. You have really been such a big help to me. And the rest of you have too. I am so thankful that we have this place to come to to get help and to form such wonderful friendships.
JesseK
