I got this in email today from one of my favorite sellers on Ebay.
I thought I would share it with all of you!
Time again for another offer from the Bloomin' Jungle!
We are over run with African Violet babies after setting over 120 trays of leaves last fall, babies are popping up everywhere, we have been potting our fingers off for weeks now, and we have so many we are having to put stands in front of stands or set them on the floor.
These babies are the same thing we have been offering on eBay, they are small, but will have been in their own pot for at least 30 days and are showing that they are established and well rooted, and are entering the stage where they will start growing quite rapidly.
If you read this whole letter, it should answer any questions you may have.
We assign you a number as the orders come in, and will ship in that order with the exception of bad weather on your end, in which case, you go to the top of the pile for the following week. I will be shipping only 5 to 10 boxes a week, and if there is a big response to this sale, it may take several weeks your box to be shipped, which also gives time for more babies to grow out.
We are not going to set aside anything other than I am going to save two babies of each variety for myself, everything else is open to be sold. I will pull out the first tray, then on to the next and so on, and select 9 different babies of my choice to ship to you, they could be any color or size, with as much as I have to fall over here, I cannot search for special plants or for say a particular size or color. Most are standards, there are a few semi's and mini's, but if you don't want standards, please don't order.
The babies that are available are for the most part different that what is on the website, most of these are either old friends or new varieties that I picked up from the shows last fall. They can include new, vintage, Wrangler's, Apache's, Stork's, Lyons, Robs, and many, many others.
According to my working list, I have over 1800 varieties, and last fall I set leaves of most of them, so anything is likely to show up in your box. If by chance I run low on plants big enough to ship, I may hold your order for a few weeks until I do have plants big enough.
The reason for 9 plants is that is all that will fit in a priority box using the method that I use to pack them with the insulation and so forth, therefore, I will not be able to combine shipping with any other plants or leaves.
No other offers, specials, or anything of that sort applies with this offer.
You can order as many offers as you like, but the price will not change, as the box is full and I would have to pack another box anyway.
This offer ends on midnight, February 28th, 2006.
Now for the best part!
9 African Violet plants, MY CHOICE, shipping included with fiberglass insulation and heat pack, shipped to the USA only, for $40.00! (if you bought these plants off eBay, they would cost you a minimum of $52.25)

Ebay seller special offer
excellent - the only thing I don't like is that it's their choice. Would that be a bother for the ones that have a large selection already?
Probably.
But thought someone could use it..so thought I would pass it along to everyone.
I think if everyone one in a one box, we'd get a good assortment and could do a trade of either plants or leaves if we have duplicates.
I actually ordered 2..since I know she has an awesome selection.
She is also very nice and her plants are very healthy.
I figure whatever I get duplicates of..I can trade them out..and with thousands of varieites :) I have a good chance of getting some good stuff :)
Great minds think alike. Laurie posted this last night right before I was going to.
It's a good deal but her choice and I have too many babies now. I send out nice size plants in pots 15 plants plus and leaves for shipping :))
Mee too Lorry. I love 'grab bags' too. Besides here varieties are super, I did a 2 for 1 leaf order last month and got some nice ones. All the ones I ordered and a lot that I know are nice ones as bonus leaves.
I have some nice plants too from her. Healthy and well packed. And maybe one or two will be for my special easter bunny...
soo bad we cant at least specify 'trailing, vintage or mini'
of course we all know I'd ask for girl leaves, petals with green edges.... blah blah blah...
I thought it was worth a shot :) I really like Linda and she is fairly familiar with my collection :) I figure if I get doubles..I can put them down or share them :)
She said the varieties are different then what she posts online too :)
Linda usually sends a bonus plant also...So I bet you will be happy with them Laurie :)
I noticed I doubled posted and sorry about that! LOL..I wanted to post it quickly before I went to work..but I should have looked.
I figured I didn't need to worry about vintage trailer or mini since I like pot luck :)
LOL you are too cute Laurie :) I believe I have some green edged ones for you come spring! and some girl leaf.
I love surprise boxes best of all !
Linda did say that most of the plants are Standards and if you don't want Standards not to place an order.
Make sure you post pictures when you get them :))
I'm going to stand this special I'm still Nursing the D&P Specials and several went into the trash ASP and several more died. :((
I'm not saying Linda does not have nice plants she has wonderful plants !
I also have a big order coming from Violet Gallery :))
Go for it and let us know what you get :))
Woodland Sprite (6206) 04/16/1986 (A. Jantzen) Single light blue/darker center. Medium green, quilted, serrated. Large
It has a very 'vintage' or 'species' look and feel to it. It's got about 8 or nine pups coming off the neck right now. I'm going to let it size up and then pluck them. I have about 6 leaves down, so not to worry, I'll have plenty!
Looks a bit like my 'Admiral' which is vintage.
It's a wonderful plant !
Yup Admiral is Very vintage and very lovely :)
and glad you will have lots to go around!
Oh cool flower :) and admiral is lovely also :)
You must be a good mom..your plants seem SOOO HAPPY!
no, not such a good mommy, I've killed more than I haven't (sad face)
But everyone got a bath today so they are shiny.
Awh..Laurie...we all have to learn somehow!
now how cool is that! You are a good mommy - it definitely looks extremely happy!
I have killed so many plants and sometimes I'm doing so bad buckets of expensvie babies and leaves got thrown away as I could not hold my eyes open for days or more. They just dried up :((
Well, all of mine were killed with 'kindness' - sort of, I drown them! But I'm much better now. I just give tiny sips of water.
having a water meter helps too! but now I'm getting the hang of it. Don't know what I'll do when our temps reach the 90's to 110's in the summer.
Just going to have to run the A/C to keep them a little cooler! Especially those variegated gals!
yes good to 75 and not over 80 . My lights run at night and a/c non stop;
Why don't they tolderate heat? Where did they originate from?
Violet, if you need help potting up just let me know.
Jan...
Thanks Jan ! I just do a little here and there a bit here and a bit there when ever I can . Which I never know when those moments will be. the plants wait for me they don't mind :))
well they are african violets...but lots of hybridizing....by the way...in Kenya..were most of them came from is having just a terrible time now...they are in a drought and on tv you see pictures of their animals...camels...cows etc...just falling over dead...and the people are in terrible need....when i was in Kenya in the 60's...it was so wonderful..and it breaks my heart to see so many dying due to the drought and lack of food.
That is sad Bob we are so Blessed here.
Lorry did you get your Special boxes ? What plants did you get !
I have not gotten it yet. I should email her about it
WOW Yes. Laurie told her to wait to ship until she got home from FL.
I've been emailing back and forth. But asked her to wait until I was home. I asked her to ship on the 6th or 8th, but didn't get them. Which is fine, since I've been a plant packing/potting fool the last two days.
I haven't had any problems with them - Linda is a good vendor. So I'm not too worried.
Well she did say it was a frist come first serve and it may take her some time.
I have ordered tons from her and she is reputable..so not too worried
Yes if she got a lot of orders could take couple months and I'm sure she did. Can't wait to see what you girls get :))
I know most of the vendors VG, Lyndon Lyons, Pats Pet and more have been taking orders all winter so an order placed now or April May can take months.
But their worth the wait !
OOOHHH I wish you hadn't said that, Allison. I ordered a few petrocosmea from Pat's Pets a week or so ago. I want them right now. NONE OF THIS PATIENTLY WAITING STUFF. : )
did you read the first page that says read before ordering :))
I read it and then waited to order. But she has the petrocosmea that I cant live without.
