the 10 av's i ordered from jack 3 weeks or so ago arrived tonight a bit after 5pm....the larger ones have kind of cold leaves..but look ok....the ness candy pink...although packaged well is severely broken...but he did include 11 plants...so i suspect one is free...i will put the broken leaves down....I am finding myself very far behind with the inside and outside of jungle and i better get with it quickly...

allison well my av's decided not to wait and i am hoping to revive their dryness...took me an hour to "baby"...them...the soil was very hard....i think they'll be alright now...in some other thread (does anybody else have trouble remembering where everything i write and others write is?)..i wrote asking about what you folks thought about lining trays with vermiculite...than like my plumie seeds...putting wet paper towels and setting the plants on that...hoping for a capillary action...i DON'T want to buy capillary mats..
I'm not sure BOB I've never done it. I do wick mine and use extremly light soil-less mix. I put them on trays and wen they need watering I pour it in and a half hour sometimes and hour lol left over water dumped works well for me !
yep i think you have a great method allison...how far up do you put your wicks
I twisted wicks all around the bottom and bring wick the of pots pinch of wick shows. Large pots i
use more than one wick . peak at plants i sent you !

I had two streps that came with wicks, but they didn't seem to work - always dried out?
He always ships dry Bob :) So they don't get stem rot :)

it's better to ship on the dry side ! I have revieved way too many too wet plants. They can freeze and rot. Not bad if their going Florida to Florida but on the dry side is best.
lorry...jack's plants came alright..the leaves were cold...but i wouldn't say dry...i was referring to my other plants that i hadn't watered in some time...today...all are doing fine...glad the HD got some plants there Lorry...some are really nice...
The two I picked up are GORGEOUS :) I can't wait to share photos of them! I just hope they keep carrying them :)

Laurie..I don't know which plant he has there..but if you like a lot of white leaves...My Mango Mongo is almost ALL white :)
I think I have a few leaves of it up too....but had to get them a little at a time...it is hard to find leaves green enough to propagate and I didn't want to take the couple it did have :)
Once Bob posts the name..I may have that one too :) I have almost all of Jack's varieties since I LOVE to buy from him!

And the Prettiest pot Kenton sent me has a Baby Moombeam happliy growing in it. Even has buds ! I will take pictures now and when it blooms.

They are different colors and size and three of them I'll take pictures ! I just got them today. Everyday is Chritstmas at Dg Av forum :))
well when i got to the county animal center...the chihuaha i was looking at 2 days ago had just been adopted...a young lady took her...there was another smaller one there but a male..and i'm looking for females...BUT>.i may have made a mistake in not taking "kee-ku"....just the perfect dog...neutered...1year old...lady is moving and can't take him....he is so friendly and all...am sure since owner bought him at a big pet store..that she paid big bucks....when i put my hand down to pet him...he started licking my fingers....i melted...but walked away...perhaps i'm not QUITE ready,,,
Oh my goodness Bob. When one melts your heart you must take them home. They go so fast . Our Precious is not feeling well today she won't drink nor eat her favorite things. Nothing. We adopted her two years ago at age 8 weeks on Feb 12th. she is our little girl we love her so much.

allison...sometimes..dogs take a day off not eating...they really do....i have to be sure i have enough time for a pet right now..and after 10 years with one..i don't want to jump right in....but .i will eventually get another one...time has a way of working things out.
Ok Bob I'll try not to worry. She has not drank any water either. And turns her head even when we try her favorites.
We love our 13 year old girl I told you this past summer not a day goes by we don't miss her. We just love our pets so much. If we had room and a yard I'd have two again :))

Why are you not quite ready for a new baby?? I can understand hesitation. I lost my cats and was so heart broken that I'm not so sure I could go through that again.

hi anita....i think if i had my place together..i might be ready for another pet.....i have so many indoor and outdoor plants going on now....and as i mentioned earlier...i have to be more disciplined...i usually spend 3 to 5 hours at the gym...sleep about 6..that leaves me about 14 hours in which to get things done...when the sun is out...i work like crazy...lol...KeeKu..which is the name of the last Chihuaha i saw today would be the perfect pet for me...small enough for this place..and was so loving...i'll probably be sorry i didn't take her..my hesitation was that the dog was a male.
....Allison i hope that precious does eat tomorrow...but my vet always told me this was normal not to eat for a day...but you need to ck with your vet if it continues..
