What tomatoes are best for juicing? Also, beets, peppers, and carrots. We bought a juicer earlier this month and I'd like to grow our own veggies specifically for that this summer. Does anyone have experience with growing for juice?

Hey, Granny!!! Can't help you on WHAT to juice, but I've got a question for ya.... I've always wanted to have a juicer, but don't know what kind to buy that's actually a good one. Can you suggest a brand? Is it possible not to spend a fortune on a good one? (I've got this hubby who doesn't think I need one, so the more expensive it is, the more reasons he has NOT to get one!) *lol*
Thanks Trisha.
AuntyB - we bought a Champion Juicer for $229 from a pharmacist-turned-natural-health-doctor. His web site is: www.osasgarden.com. He probably sells them online, I don't know. My husband, ye olde Greybear, has multiple sclerosis and drinking all this juice has helped him a lot. We hope he can walk again after a few months.
Howdy...about two yrs ago I got permission from DW to buy a VitaMix...it does it all! Not only can you juice things with it but it also makes HOT soups, cold ice cream, hummas (one of my favorites!), AND(!) is so easy to clean! You don't have to pull it apart into umpteen pieces to wash it each time you use it...(simply put some water in the container w/a bit of dish soap, run it for a few seconds and you're done!). At first, and for a number of yrs I thought it was expensive. Finally we made the plunge and discovered it's the best! Go Vita Mix! (no, I am not a salesman!)
I'm looking to buy a juicer and wondered how many of you are still using the machines you did when this thread was first started? Would you still recommend the same, or have you replaced them with different brands?
Thanks,
Jody
You might find some juicing info here if not email Gerry Coffey and put Your neice told me to email you in the header and she should answer you. LOL she LOVES to email but is busy and sometimes overlooks some of the emails. She's ahem ahh kinda well she's a strict raw vegger and all of that and an expert in the field.
