Frogs, I am going to have to go out and smell a few. Though some I may do from a far after your vivid descriptions. LOL. I have about 15 kinds and only recently realized most of mine are ugly. I had crossed over the line from buying something because you think it is great to buying it because it is part of a group you collect. So I am stopping getting them. LOL. Unless I see one I think is great.
Most of mine are a bit winter weary though. Some rotted. I am not sure they will come back from the roots.
This is my favorite one of all. Plectranthus 'Green & Gold'
Do you remember when your yard was ......................
Kell, I have the beaumontia Grandifora also. I have had it for two years now and still haven't seen a bloom, nor has it grown much. I am with you, if I don't see it take off this year, it is getting traded away.
Where ever did you find it, Patricia? Around here? I saw a big 5 gallon one several years ago at Regan's with buds. It was over $30 as I recall and I was too cheap. I have been looking for it every time I go to Regan's since. Another one that got away! LOL
I saw a great pic of one last night on my wanderings online. Made me want it all over again.
It could be that the guy from Thailand who described the difference between beaumontia Grandifora and the (murtonii) both of which are beaumontia Grandifora hit the nail on the head as they both look identical, and are perhaps the nurseries do not differentiate between the two. Although- in San Diego..you should be able to grow both. I think Im going to stick mine in the full sun and see what happens.
I had 3 different Brugs blooming this morning.!
