Wow Allison...GREAT story :)
My hubby and I have been married 2 last september and we lived together for 2 yrs before getting married :)
Seems we have a lot of things in common.
I know that no nursing home is good! I used to work in them until I could not take it any more! I just cared to much and the other administration didn't like that!
I also ended up in one for a short time...when I got a breakdown on my backside. My husband and had just started dating..He stayed around the WHOLE time..that is when I knew he was a keeper!
And he truly is...Glad to see you found a great one also,
Lorry
Hector has ears!
Lorry I felt so bad young people in the Nursing home family did not want to care for them.
There was a young beautiful girl around 30yrs. old . So pretty. She has Spina Bifida ( SP ) She could walk real good. Here main problem was her hands. They got her special brace to wear to feed herself.
Oh she always dressed and looked so pretty. She'd sit in the front by front desk each day she had a crush on the UPS driver :)) She would have loved to find a nice guy get married and even have kids. I hope her fairrytale came true and she is still not there. She had been there at least a year of longer. Family came to see her but did not want to bother to care for her and she did not need much care. So sad.
Material things on earth mean nothing. You can't take them with you. I had a great career, always new car, truck, home.... when I got Sick I lost everything. And when I went into the Nursing home I lost everything I worked hard for , everything I owed that I could not fit into half a nursing home half of a small room. Luckly I had my old computer ! The same one I have now :))
Allison
I have spina bifida.
I was only in the home for a short time...it was due to a surgery :) And well generally healthy as a horse besides that and totally independent.
But I am soo glad your fairytale came true :) You deserve it!
Thanks Lorry The sad thing this girl was so healthy too,
the important thing is that you have people that love you. Material things may make life nice - but they don't make them wonderful!
So True !
What wonderful stories, Allison and Lorry! Thank you for sharing them with us. You're both so special!
Here are some updated pics of Hector - I loaded them on my website http://lakehousecreations.com/Gesneriads.htm
WOW Anita, those are great shots! love the progression! But even more I love your cards! You're a talented lady! and those ladies nights out! FUN!!!
We do that too. There is a group of four of us gals who met while working in a restaraunt in 1985. Three of us still hang out together every week, one of us lives in Montana. But we've remained the four musketeers for this long!
I think that's great - it's alot of fun. Thanks for the compliment. Card making is just one of the crafts I do for fun! I used to make a little mad money on ebay with them, but I haven't had the time lately.
Great photos Anita. Luv the documentation on Hector....and your cards are beautiful.
Thanks Deb!
Nice time-lapse like bit.
Thanks Kenton - there's the geek in me
congrats and very nice photos. It's especially rewarding when a variegated leaf is successful.
Alliso
you and your husband are one in a milllion...er, make that two in a million! LOL. My hat- if I had one- is off to both of you.
Thanks April. I was in bed too day thinking how a ruff road it was when I got sick and ending up in the nursing home. That was a nightmare. And now I can rest peacefuly my rest of my days in comfort of Love and Friends.
I would have never started growing African violets .
If not for them I'd surly sleep 24 hours a day. They give me much joy and even more joy with the friends I have met here with all of you. I just keep on growing them , no room, but love the new life of each baby :))
Anita I love your baby and watching it grow. I just keep wanting to look at it :)) I like how you set up the pictures of it on your web sight ! I look forward to watching it grow ! Thanks for sharing :))
Allison
Thanks!!
Allison, don't forget to send me pictures for your cards.
Anita
Ok if I ever get caught up lol This weekend the only thing that got done was sleeping .
Anita how is Hector ?
Good Morning! I just added pictures from the 8th to the website. http://lakehousecreations.com/Gesneriads.htm I also moved him to the Grow Cart instead of the humidity dome. I was going to go check on him. I'll take more pics of him on Sunday/Monday. I thought it would be nice to see the difference in growth over several days.
Wonderful ! I like how you did the birth of a baby
Thanks - I was so excited about him. That's what made me decide to do it. I might give him his own page though, because eventually I want to fill the upper area with pics of my AV's
It's very nice. Is it a special program ?
Microsoft Front Page - I create it the way I want and upload it to Yahoo, who hosts my site.
Oh I've seen other people have this . It's very nice . Excellent documentation . I love it when you girl do this !
Thanks Allison-one of my many hobbies. Wish I'd win lotto so I could spend all my time 'playing'
Yes we are wishing to win the Lottery too :))
Anita I am sorry I have not forget to send you pictures as soon as I ever get caught up packaing plants and transplanting babies and watering...
I'm so sorry it's taking me so long.
don't apologize...If you want - give me a list of your favorite AV's and I'll see if I can find real good photos of them to use. I think you posted some good shots of Precious - so I can try downloading that one..
