kell Susies cooking couldnt be any worst than mine--im looking forward to a grand old time in Texas!!!
Brug seeds, thousands of them
Cheryl, I know where some good restaurants are(I don't cook if I can get out of it).
Sounds good to me!!! I love to eat-dont we all!!
Actually I am just jealous you are getting to go, Cheryl! One day I am going to go too and drive Susie nuts. LOL!
I will believe it when I see you get off the plane Kell!
Kell & Calalily, Please come to Tyler. The round-up is at my house. Kell, I think the Rose Garden has 10,000 roses in it and I will personely take you to see every thing and I can cook.
Calalily, we are all most stright east of Dallas on 69hiway and I live a bout a mile off 69. We are having Bar-Q and lots of room for everyone. Sure hope you will come. This is my back yard.
Your back yard is beautiful! I can't imagine having 10,000 roses!
Kell, fly to Harlingen or Brownsville, we can drive up there in one day if we have two drivers. I promise not to cook anything while you are here!
Streets and Trips says it is 630 miles from my house to Tyler and is 10.5 hours driving time(not counting bathroom stops, lol).
kell Im getting excited to take my trip--maybe I will drive Susie nuts--so you dont have too--I should bring her down a snowball from Iowa--Im going to try not to buy to many plants when Im down there--I cant take care of what I got now--I got on the rose forum for the first time and looked at all yours and Jody c posts and I had to buy 12 new roses--dont know where Im going to plant them so Im not looking at the forum any more--they were some neat roses though thanks Cheryl
LOL, I was just trying to imagine taking care of 10,000 roses! I figured you had a gardener(or two).
I love those big trees, I miss the trees.
WOW you guys. What fun would that be. March 18th huh? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Susie you know I hate to fly!!!! I have a really ,really good friend in Tyler. She has been trying to get me there for years. It usually is too hot for me. I would die. And I would get to see Susie too, a bestest friend for sure. Gosh, I hate to fly. I am such a wuss. When my Mom died a few months ago, I swore I would not make myself fly for 5 years. For the last 2 years I was flying across the country every few months to be with her. Each time I hated the plane ride so. I will have to think about this one. Thanks so much!!!!!
Joan, your home is just so lovely. I love the trees too. My friend there grows her brugs in the shade too and they do OK. I am not sure if it is complete shade or not.
Oh Cheryl, Susie will know where to go plant shopping. She will make it impossible not to get new ones!! Her yard is incredible. I am so glad you went to the rose forum. We have so much fun over there whipping ourselves up into a group rose frenzy. Did you post the roses you bought? I will have to go over and look!
Kell, Amtrak goes from your city to either Harlingen or Brownsville.
Toot toot Susie Q! LOL
Kell it sounds like you are not going to win this one. I have made the trip by train and it is not bad. I can't remember the time but it is longer then the plane. I am not much on flying but I like the time it saves.
We would love for Susie to come to. You just have to love brug.
I will be in San Francisco in April for a wedding and then on to L.A. for a week to visit with my son but we will take the plane this time to save time.
Calalily I think she is coming. Joan
Okay, I asked for seeds early on, but wanted to let you know I just got my envelope out in today's mail! :o( Thank you!!!
Sanna
kell Dont feel bad abought flying--I dont like to fly either--I have to have a few drinks before I will get on the plane--then a few more when Im on it--then it isnt so bad!!! I will post on the rose forum the roses I bought--

LOL Joan. We will see. You will love your California trip. If you have time when in San Francisco, try to go to the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers. It is a most delightful afternoon!

Oh Cheryl, it would take some IV medication to get me happy on a plane. LOL. I just know you will have the best time! I will go over to check out your roses. They are just such great little bloom factories!
Thanks Calalily will let you know when they arrive...! :o)))
Loretta...
Kell I was going to ask what the best flower places are. Thank you so much. Is there any other places that I must see? Joan
Hi Cala lilly!
I sent mine on Monday pm. does it take so long to arrive there?????
I am worried now. :o(
Spider, yours came today. I will mail on Monday.
PHEWWWW......thank you Cala!
cala, did my sasbe arrive? I'm getting concerned as I sent two out on that same day and haven't heard about either one. I hope I didn't "lose" that day's outgoing mail.....stranger things have happened around here though.
Thanks!
~Bren
Joan, the Conservatory is near the Arboretum. It is huge, all in the Golden Gate Park. It is divided out by countries. Make sure you have a map or you will get lost easily. They even have sangs and brugs esp in Chile. Though I do not think I ever got to see where they have lots of brugs. We went round and round in circles looking. LOL

There is a Japanese Tea Garden that I have not been to I am sad to admit. It is supposed ot be just great.
.
Here is an interesting article about the area as a tour.

My favorite area is the Fern Tree Grove, you go for a fern walk. It is right across from the Conservatory of Flowers and is just lush and beautiful.
I'm pretty sure I've been to the white building in San Fran, several times, I loved it. I saw small house plants, here in Arky, that were the size of trees there, unbelievable and better each time I was there...BTW, some sort of way, it was a bit scary, sorta Jurassic Park like...
Kell, I was close to SF back in 1967, I went thru a firefighting school on Treasure Island, very nice country. John
Matter of fact California was the last state I saw before Nam. And the first state after. And for an Okie it was very different!!! John
Kell, I have one question for you. When do you sleep? You are so generous with your time and knowledge to all of us out here in the garden. Thanks!
Susie I mailed you today. Thanks again.
Plantingnut, I got your sasbe today and one from sannajane.
GRC, got your email and sent one back at ya.
Thanks Callalily got my seeds and you sure were genorous.. :o)))
Loretta...
Thanks You so much Susie!!!! I received my envy full of seeds this morning. Cindy
Kell thank you so much for all the information on the gardens. I was not looking forward to the flying but now I can not wait to get there. You have made this a wonderful trip. Joan
Hi, do you have any seeds left? I am new here and just stumbled in...lol. Trying to find my way around.
Darlene, I'm still filling sase's as they come in. If there are any left when they're all filled I'll post again. I've had several people ask for seeds. I also have more pods growing but they're not ripe yet.
Susie, My seeds arrived today! ooooooohh! I'm so happy. You were VERY generous! Thank you so much!
~Bren
