My 140 lb. 8 year old female Great Dane is absolutely petrified of any loud noises. Wind , rain, storms, trucks, etc. It is getting worse.( She is even afraid of the camera) Right now she is next to me shaking like a leaf and I have no idea why other than a loud truck or something went by. I had her on ace a few seasons ago but that was only for storms and she lost 20 lbs. Not to mention the cost. I can't seem to get her calm, forget about getting any sleep. My husband is at his wits end. He must get up at 4:30 for work. I don't want to drug her but I need something I can give her every day now I think. I guess because she is getting older It's worse. I could never crate her as a puppy she went nuts in the crate. I guess that was the beginning of the end then!! LOL.
Any advice will be appreciated. Vet visit will be next.
