Here's the new daily con't from

Hope everyone has a Wonderful Day.

Coffee and....For, Thursday, January 19, 2006
Good Morning everyone!! Back to my regular routine today - huff/puff, then home to do house pick-up. Already have the dishes soaking, beds need to be attacked first!
Defoe - do you take allegra d - everyday? That's what I was doing- just one tho in the morning. I checked on line and it had some nasty side effects. I haven't had anything for one whole day - gonna see what happens - my ears and eyes have been bothering me, but not so as I can't stand it = yet... We have painted several rooms that had paneling in them. It was a major job - washing, then rewashing, then putting on kilz, etc. I am sure you know the routine - but they have held up great and look 100% better than paneling!
McC - I have a harbor freight greenhouse and love it!! I found I cannot leave the door open during a windy day as it blows the panels to tim buck too. DH put a latch thing on the door to keep it closed. Did ya hear that they are making a bigger one now? I'd love another one, but I really only use it for a couple of months and I'm not sure it is worth the expense.
BB - welcome back - where have you been?
Julie- come over and help me cleaning- I just can't get motivated at all. I just close the door and don't look at it. Guess I need to plan another gala here- then I get my butt in gear and get something done. I"m getting to be a slug. When summer comes, I think 'Oh, I'll do it in the winter when the weather is crappy - when winter is here, I think, poo, I'll do it when it is warmer' See it never gets done!!
Well, bathroom is calling my name....hello to everyone else!!!
Well I have been up since 6:00, arm hurting, I imagine from all that painting yesterday. Have had my coffee and a sausage biscuit, read the paper, and am getting ready to go to the grocery.
BB glad you checked in. Do it more often.
Sarv, what kind of side effects are there with the Allergra D. If I don't take it, I am sneezing and blowing my nose all day.
Well, in order to get everything accomplished, I am off. Will check in when I return.
Good Morning All,
Up earlier than normal this morning. Woke up about 4:00 with terrible stomach cramps,,,went back to bed,,,didn't put my CPAP back on and everytime I moved a certain way those dumb cramps started again. I'm so tired,,,wish I had time for a snap today....Maybe a little later.
sarv,
I'm the same way,,,had grand plans for getting tons of stuff done in January,,,haven't accomplished one thing yet.
dcat,
Sorry to hear your arm is hurting so badly again.
Well, off to check a few threads.
Hope everyone has a good day.
Kelly
Took me alost an hour to catchup this morning!! Welcome back, Julie. I thought you had submerged into your embroidery and we wouldn't.see you until Spring. I should go tackle my basement too, I have about twenty of those plastic storage bins that could stand a culling and resorting. I'm sure there is a lot of unused junk that could be discarded, as well. It would be good to get it sorted out.
This is a chore....Sammi likes the sound of the keyboard and I just had to delete several long lines of garbage that he typed for me. What a hellion! Yesterday he managed to switch off the power strip and interrupt our computer connection. Now there's a box in front of it and so far he hasn't figured out how to get behind it.
Woodspirit, thanks for the link on the books, I'll check it out. I sell a lot on a division of Ebay, because I simply have no more room to keep them.
Hap, they got you! But I know you wouldn't do it if you didn't get a lot of satisfaction from it. I used to do training for employees on new computer systems, and training people who aren't enthusiastic about the new methods are your worst nghtmare. I tried to make it fun, which is a challenge with a dull subject. I think I'd rather teach beginner cooks!
IO1, I don't often eat at the computer either, but I'm always shocked at the volume of crumbs I can shake out of the keyboard!! I'm trying not to look at too many things in the seed catalogs because I always over buy. But since DH wants to enlarge the back corner garden, I'll need to find some black walnut tolerant plants for that area. I've already commited planti-cide on numerous supposedly hardy annuals and perennials. My "tolerant" list grows shorter every year.
Oz, if you stick to Maria's sandwich instructions you might make it through the week, but please avoid anything more complicated. That's why drive-throughs were invented!
Any further cooking efforts sound hazardous to your health.
Sarv, I wouldn't want to go back to work either!! I was offered a couple of positions after I retired because of my experience in financial counseling to widows, one even offered a car and a golf club membership....but I flashed on daily pantyhose, make up and business type cllothing and it wasn't hard to say No Thanks. I also have a long list of things to do in winter, but they aren't getting done! I have several month's worth of crossword puzzles from the Sunday Tribune and those aren't getting done either.
It's the curse of the easily distracted.....LOL!
Susan, glad the surgery is over, but hope you will feel better day by day. Don't hesitate to complain about the pain, they are really stingy with prescriptions and you have to push them to get relief. Good that your DH is being so helpful. Here's to a better day for you!
GG, I managed to squeak in a hair cut yesterday, really just a trim, but had disappointing news. Having just found this excellent gal, she has now decided to quit cutting hair, and is going to work for a beauty school as a trainer. Gahhhhhhhh! Now the hunt starts again. My DIL was going to her too, so we are both whining. Regarding the lack or abundance of customers, my mom always said you can have either time or money, but you never get both! That was true for me until I retired, now I have time to spare and can manage on money if I'm not paying up the wazoo for sick critters .....
Speaking of sick critters, Souky ate nicely last night, which was a relief, but this morning she turned up her nose at the Fancy Feast. Last night she ate the FF that she had stuck her nose up at, earlier in the day. Sheeesh. She is more active though, and Sammi is bent on chasing her, which she seems to enjoy up to a point. Then she heads for the high ground.
Okus, I hope your hard work on the French Drain pays off. Every spring when we start gardening, I find I am in worse shape that the year before...and take longer to recover!
McCool, what a gale! Good thing that tree didn't come down or you wouldn't be posting for a while! We get terrible high winds in late March and early April, so I'll have to make sure our little plastic greenhouse doesn't go flying away. I'm hoping to put it in a sheltered corner but that may not help much if we get a big wind. Suzie, mine is a little cheapie too, so we'll see how it survives the season.
Dcat, working with your sister must have made the chore easier. My DS painted her paneling too, and it brightened up the room so much. It is a big job though with all the precleaning and base coat before you even start to paint. Good of your DM to help by pointing ......LOL
Dh often dozes off claiming he isn't sleeping. I don't even bother waking him up to go to bed anymore, I just leave him there and hope he doesn't wake me up when he finally comes to bed. Glad to hear your DH is getting good results from the Chiro.
Betsy, sleep apnea can just ruin your life. Good luck with the sleep study, it worked out very well for GG as she got the appliance that helps her as a result. Keep us posted as to how it goes.
Lastly, great results on the "blasting" MG, I'd hold that doctor to his promise !
My appt with Dr. was fine if you think getting your shoulder poked is a good time, He's sending me for an MRI next Monday to rule out a rotator cuff problem, but I think he thinks that's what it is. Grrrrr. I'll try to be patient, and not cross any bridges too early. DON'T want surgery, as that will totally screw up the summer for gardening and golf.
Better get busy, yesterday was a total waste and the laundry monster is growling at me, not to mention the evil dust bunnies....
Later!!
Edited because Sammi can't type worth a darn. Little beast!

Good Morning!
Sarv - I am the biggest procrastinator when it comes to doing major cleaning. I have cabinets that should have been cleaned out months ago.
Defoe - Take care of that arm today. Hope it feels better soon
Kelly - ooh stomach cramps! Curl up with a heating pad. Hope it goes away quickly.
DH was in a horrid mood yesterday. Don't know what about as he is not one to talk about stuff. I was about to ask for the 2x4, but now he is better and sucking up for his bad behavior.
Check back later, see ya.
Meezerfive Oh come on!! those instuctions were pretty hard to understand. Did not tell what kind of cheeze are the type of bread. I went to the store and there was all kinds of cheese and a lot of bread. Very confusing those grocery stores. After asking several questions about the cheese and the bread they threw me out of the store. I mean after all the package said SHARP on the side in big letters. I ask the boy will it cut me ?? Silly kid just looked at me dumb founded. They need better informed employees in that place if they are going to put dangerous cheese in the place.
M5,
I just love reading of Sammi's antics,,,,,what a little terror,,,LOL Glad to hear Souky is being more active. Hope she stops being so finicky with her food,,,maybe it's an I'll show you for bringing that little brat home thing?,,,LOL Wouldn't that be just like a cat?? Persnickity,,,LOL
Glad you got your hair cut. It is hard to change Hairdressers. Good luck.
Well, I should get my substantial rear upstairs and get ready for work.
See you all later,
Kelly
Suzie,
Thanks,,,I don't know if I ate something that didn't agree with me or what, but they were annoying.
Aw,,,poor, poor Mrs. Oz,,,how has that woman put up with you all these years???? ROFLOL
Good morning everybody.
Meezers, it's good to hear good news on Souky. It looks like Sammi is keeping you on your toes. Keep remembering that you couldn't wait to get the little darlin' home.
Marcia, good to see you again, however briefly. Come back soon.
Hap, how did your first day back go? I hope you enjoy the part time hours.
Julie came up from the basement organizing project to visit a while, good, nice to see you and know you aren't lost down there somewhere. If I ever got into mine it would sure take a while, hate to think about it.
Okus, falling in ditches is hazardous to your health. Hope you don't have too many sore spots today. Now you have plants to replant on top of it, remember that bending and stretching is good for you.
My hubby has a lot of allergy problems but does well on over the counter stuff. He takes a 12 hour kind, the one in the morning is non-drowsy, the evening one is the drowsy kind which helps him sleep while it keeps him from getting congested overnight.
Mg, I hope you are feeling better soon after getting rid of that blasted thing. (couldn't resist that), snicker.
Where is Babs? I hope the long absence doesn't mean that her mother is having major problems.
Today is my run to town and do errands day. I have to take AmandaPanda to the vet for shots now that her sneezing has abated. Oh my, how she hates to have that pink Amoxicillin squirted into her mouth. I hold her in my arms like a baby, face up, pry her mouth open with a finger and hubby administers the med while holding her front feet. She has learned some new squirming techniques but we always get more medicine in the cat than on the cat. Yesterday she was definitely in heat but it was a quick cycle and seems to be pretty much over this morning. I'll schedule her for spaying today.
I just looked out and see that it is snowing hard again. Yesterday and the day before we had snow, then rain, then snow, then rain. Messy. Oh, and of course it froze last night. By the time I need to drive to town the roads shouldn't be too bad.
Hello to the rest of you, this table is a busy place. I can't keep up with what everyone is doing. Missed posting here yesterday although I did read it. Right now it's time for me to get moving. I'll try to get back later.
Back again - home from the huff/puff- they took my body fat - it was off the chart and NOT in the good area!! LOL The two gals before me were off the chart in the good area. Oh well, it's fatties like me that keep them in business. Of course the girl that took it about died laughing at my high number - I was laughing right along with her until she blurted it out so half the country could hear. I'll be darned if I do that again!! I work out with three skinny minnies- as my mother would say 'just wait until they get sick - they won't have any fat to sustain them'
I thought I was going crazy this morning - I went and bought some claritin D for my allergies and couldn't find it. I was ticked - put on my coat to leave and there it was in my pocket.
defoe - the side effects were: insominia, depression, anger, dry mouth (man I have all of these - what female doesn't!!) My nose never runs, but my eyes and ears itch and the worse is the constant drainage down the throat. Hence I am clearing my throat every 10 sec (very annoying to be around me!)
I just ate my lunch at the computer with Martha on in the background. I have to be sure and vacuum good under the computer or the ants charge in!!
GG - hope the stomach cramps skedaddle. I just called and canceled my hair cut - I'm letting it grow out some- hairgal keeps cutting it shorter and shorter and I think I was looking scalped! Since I get it cut with my glasses off, I never know the final outcome until I put them back on - sometimes I am wildly surprised!!
Time for me to get my rear in gear and accompolish something- but first I have to finish the funniest book - Must Love Dogs - if you haven't read it - get it~~ I've been laughing out loud (heard it was a movie- but I didn't see it)
Greetings,
Well, another attempt to catch up.
Defoe, sounds like you really did have a busy day painting. How did it work painting over the panelling? Sorry to hear that you are sore today.
I think Allegra D is also one of those medications that you have you be careful about eating grapefruits when you are taking it. Not sure though. Probably Darius knows. I have taken it in the past with no problems, but generally take Claritan now if I need to.
Marcia - do check in from time to time. I feel I barely know you, though I DO recognize your name. I hope they get to the bottom of your sleep problem.
mornin_gayle, glad you're feeling better.
Elaine, hope the DH's heart stress test went OK.
Kelly, sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I hope the cramps are lessened soon.
M5, sorry about the loss of the hairdresser. It's always problematic finding one who can cut well and consistently. (At least it is for me. Fortunately, I've been going to the same guy since 1977. But one of these days he's going to retire like me. Last summer he had some back surgery and I had two crappy cuts from someone else in his shop.)
I am glad to hear that Souky is doing better. And Sammi really does sound like a hellion. But I bet you get a lot of enjoyment from him.
Oz, if you have a sizeable grocery store near you, head to the deli. they will have stuff ready made that you can just take home and eat. Often there are single serving sized portions as well.
You're BAD in the grocery store. Sharp cheese, really. Although, actually, as i think about it, I wonder if it's an American term. Most of the cheese (usually cheddar, but sometimes Gouda) is labelled as medium, old, extra old or extra old aged 2, (4, 6) years.
Well, I think I MAY have accomplished what often seems to be impossible. As I write this, I've reached the end of today's digest. Wanna bet how many sneak in while I'm still typing? I guess I'll have to preview and find out, or refresh the other window I have open.
Back to the concert on Monday. It went well and receive a positive review in yesterday's paper. In regard to the Dompierre, he wrote:
Les Diableries is an engaging piece of fluff, or rather five engaging pieces of fluff - lots of fun, particularly for a violin soloist good enough to play it. David Stewart, the OSO's concertmaster, was definitely good enough, and so were the conductor and orchestra.
One of my strengths, learned over many years, is an ability (at least most of the time) to really focus when it matters and I was able to pull together the focus power for the irregular rhythms when we played the piece. But near the end of the first movement, the brass made a big error. According to the principal flutist, the conductor gave them the "death stare" and at the end of the piece which was just before intermission, we played the first movement again as an "encore". The real reason, probably, was to be able to correct the brass error in the archival recording of the piece. Friends in the audience said it sounded even better the second time, but I personally didn't play it as well - having used up my quote of focus power for that piece.
We're down to the crunch now with my successor at the FC. He seems to be procrastinating a bit in some of the basic timely handling of client files and learning the data entry process. I reminded him yesterday that I'm only there for about a week and I think that as of next Friday, I may actually disappear for a few days. (If weather permits, maybe I'll go down to Rochester, NY or something). I don't want to be too handy for him to ask questions though in the long term I plan to be an active volunteer at least once a week.
Today, I dropped off the client files Monday and yesterday to him. I entered them at home and he can do it again at the FC on a different computer for practice. Then I went to Aquafit, Staples, and a grocery store. Found quite a bit of turkey stock which had been in my freezer for awhile when I rearranged things for my party. It's time it got made into soup. And a good vegetable soup with a bit of turkey in it is nourishing and fits right into a weight reduction program. It's time to get serious about 20 pounds.
At Staples, I was looking for really good quality paper, but didn't buy anything. I have a large looseleaf binder in which I have receipes from shortly after I got married. It's now in really bad shape and needs to have the favourites printed out on good paper for posterity and the junk removed. That will be a good retirement project.
Gee, where are you all? I just refreshed the other window and nothing has been posted in over 1 1/2 hours.
Hope you're all out there having good days.
Ann
ANN I think you should drop the whole concert thing and head for the Honky Tonks down around Nashville. Still think you and Sandy could give Earl Scruggs and Lester Flats a run for there money. And yes Ann they had one of those places in the store where you could buy ready made food. But they threw me out. Been Banned. Wasn't my fault to begin with Marie started it all with unclear instructions about the cheese sandwitch. All I was doing was boiling my water. I am not going to listen to a word you say.!! GOUDA!!!!!!!! They eat that in Canada.!!! I think thats what the bats do in the caves around here.
GG I am quite sure that this was all a result of bringing Sammi into her territory. And MaryE, I do have a vague recollection of being eager to bring him home. What was I thinking. Right now he's trying to help me type..........yikes and OUCH!!
Oz, thought I was very clear how to make a sandwich lol, you don't even have to boil water!
I thought they eat GOUDA in Holland,
I am certain Ann could give those guys run for their money but I would prefer she stay with real classical music
MARIA
Well if they eat that thats ok with me maria, but have you ever been in a Bat cave. There Gouda a foot deep in some of those places. Well honky Tonking is a classical thing also. what with people falling off the bar stools beer bottles flying around the room it is a mind expanding experience. Very classic occurance.
No, have never been in a bat cave and do not ever want to be, yuk, don't mind them flying around here eating all the bugs but do not want to join them where they hide in the day time lol
Sorry but this is not my type of music it is not my repertoire what I think is classical music nor are bars my style, sorry OZ, just never have been to such places.
To be honset with you. Bars do not work for me either. I go on about it but I just flat out cannot drink and do not see spending my money on it. Now coffee that is different I can drink 3 full pots a day. Maybe that is what makes me this way.
Mary,
Glad AmandaPanda is doing well,,,,,,glad you get more into her than on her with her new techniques,,,lol,,,, Drive carefully on those roads,,I hope they aren't too bad.
sarv,
Better to let it grow a little longer then. Maybe she won't cut so much next time. When I ask some of my customers to take off their glasses so I can get a nice cut by their ears,,,they tell me they can't see then,,,I always tell them, "As long as I can, it's all good" C'mon over next time you need a trim,,,a little road trip,,I'll take you to Foxfire Gardens after the trim,,,lol And I always say I could be sustained for at least a year if I got sick,,,lol
Ann,
Glad to hear the concert went Fairly well,,,at least You did well,,,lol the poor guy or gal that messed up must feel terrible,,, at least you all got a second shot at it for your Encore. Your recipe project will be great for a retirement project. Good idea. Would be sad to lose some of those good recipes.
oz,
3 pots of coffee a day???? No wonder,,,,lol
Thanks for all the well wishes,,,,,my stomach has settled down a little,,,don't know if I ate something that didn't agree or if I got a touch of a stomach flu bug???? Usually Nothing I eat upsets my tum-tum,,,it's like cast iron,,lol,,,but last night and into today,,,grrrrr
Well, just thought I'd check in,,,off to work on that nasty database. Had some unforeseen time on my hands,,,a color didn't show up,,,grrrrrr
Someone mentioned you either have time or money,,,,right now, I have too much time,,,,need the money. lol
Kelly
Now I am with you Oz, I do not drink three pots, lol but about 4 caups before noon, myPot makes jusst 4 cups and that is it.
Sarv, what exacrly to they do there about measuring what ever ir is the measure?
Vi - tell me why you went off allegra and on to claritin? I haven't taken anything today, but the drainage into my stomach is making me queasey ( or could it be the three scones I've eaten trying to decide if the recipe is a keeper or not LOL)
oz- you make me laugh - bars for Vi - and I'll take some of the bat gouda (cheese...) (I've heard it is like black gold) I'll take one beer, but anymore and I am not responsible for what I do. I've learned to limit myself
DH is out back splitting some more wood- storm coming in tomorrow night. I saw him slip 3 beers in is coat pocket and I've been trying to find where he hides them!! He's getting sneakier LOL - usually I can find the hiding place right off. But I snooped and snooped and didn't find any tonight.
DH and I have been watching "American Idol" = we both get a kick out of it. Like the dancing with the stars show too. We watched the ice skating thing last night and it was a bust - boring...
Haven't thought a thing about dinner- hmmmm what can I throw together fast....by Thurs, I am out of ideas...
I know why your stomack feels better Kelly. I seen on another thread twhere you broke down and bought some hosta. It is like fix. you were in withdrawl from not buying some.
when my sons girlfriend is out we go through a lot more than that. she is like me always got a cup of it in her hand.
LOL,,,Well, when you have an addiction,,,you Need your Fixes,,,although that did not totally settle it down,,,maybe need more fixes????? LOL
I used to have a cuppa in my hand All the time All day and night when I managed the Salon down in IL,,,those girls drove me nuts,,,now, I drink coffee til noon and then switch to Diet Pepsi,,,,
Kelly
Sarv - I think the only reason was that I'd hear somewhere that there was interaction between Allegra D and grapefruits and I like grapefruit.
I don't use a Claritan D, though. If I need a decongestant, I use good old Actifed, but I don't drive at the same time.
BTW, if you read the fine print, you can't use any or most of those decongestants if you have high blood pressure. I'm not on meds, but we ARE watching mine.
Ann
Thre pots a day Oz? That explains your missing wife and a lot more!! LOL
Hi all,
Well, the DH had his stress test this a.m.. Doc said there was something ... but no clue yet. Now if that won't stress you, please tell me what will. He's never had an EKG, so how do they know his heart looks different than it ever has? :)
Oz, I'm with you on the coffee. I always make another pot in the afternoon. Don't have quite that much, but sure love the stuff. :)
Meezers, bet it's a real challange having help with your typing. LOL Right now I'm still having to get use to this new keyboard. Keep finding errors. Can't blame mine on a kitty cat, though.
Ann, so glad the concert went well. I'm sure it was wonderful even if there was a little booboo. Sure wouldn't have wanted to be *that* person, though.
Kelly, hope you get rid of your tummy problems and start feeling 100% real soon.
Sarv, I sure do admire your dedication to the huff and puff. I promised myself I was getting back on my tredmill the first of January ... but haven't started yet. I *really* need to get serious about it.
Well, I think tonight is going to be a grilled salmon night. Catch y'all later.
Hugs ... Elaine
IO1- the only reason I am so dedicated is that it cost me $348 bucks AND I go with a friend - we support each other (she however is a tiny, skinny mite who really doesn't have to exercise!) We've been good friends for well over 30 yrs - I taught with her for 33 yrs and we remain friends - like sisters. I do feel better when I get going...but it is sure easy to put it off!!
Six o'clock and DH is already in la la land. Where is that 2x4?? I must be really boring to be with... If I wasn't such a bad night driver, I would take off and visit a friend. But, unless I have to, I prefer to stay off the roads at night.
DS just called and is in the dumps - he owes 1200 just to the federal govt. He said he almost had a heart attack when he heard the amount. He owed 700 last year and upped the amount he has taken out of his checks - I can't figure out what he is doing wrong. Actually, I guess I really don't want to know!! He is in debt up to his eyeballs - I do know that!! We'll have to pay this year too - but hopefully not that much!
Well 6-8inches coming tomorrow night!! Get out the shovels!!
Hi, Gob's!
I've been mostly too busy during the daytime to post, and too tired at night. I DO read to keep up although I still forget who is doing what, LOL.
Jeremy and I have finished roofing on one half of our building, and today we got most of the purlins up on the other side for the rest of the roofing. Then we took a break, and ran wiring inside so we could close up the walls with insulation and plywood. Got the window and door installed, too!
Molly will have 2 overhead lights inside, probably fluorescent, and 2 receptacles on the inside over a workbench (like for propagation mats) and a GFI receptacle on the outside.
I'm supposed to go to Kissimmee tomorrow, and then on to Miami to see kinfolks. I don't want to go!
Elaine,
Will be praying for DH's test results. An EKG is different from a Stress Test,,,have had both,,,a Stress Test monitors more things than an EKG does. Shows pretty much how the heart is working. Thank-You,,,I'm feeling a *little* better.
sarv,
Helps to have a friend to go with,,,keeps you going when you don't want to. oooo, not a good thing for your son,,,sorry to hear it.
Darius,
Spectacular job! Good to see you again,,,know you have been awfully busy,,but like it when you pop in.
Well, off to find something for dinner.
Kelly
Elaine I just had a stress test last week. they are looking for blockage in his heart. There will be a dr there and that Dr can tell from the test exactly where the blockage is IF ANY and how bad it is. I had 100 percent on right and 80 percent on left. Only reason i was alive was becuase my heart built another vein on its own and bypassed the clogged one. If there is anyb blockage they will run another test where they run a tiny wire up thru his leg into his heart area. If the blocage is severe he will get a by pass maybe the next day. by passes are second nature anymore. That is what happened to me.
Hello again. AmandaPanda is sleeping, the vet said the shots would probably make her sleepy for a couple of days. It's gonna be a calm couple of days. Her spaying is scheduled for 3 weeks from now at the same time she will get her booster shots. Sometimes being a kitty is tough!
Sarv, your "in debt up to his eyeballs" son is going to have to grow up and put himself on a budget. Does he have a wife helping add to his debt? Some spouses can spend it quicker than the guy can earn it. Oh no problem, just charge it, like the bill will never come. I know a guy who hadn't filed a tax return in years, the IRS caught up with him and in one year he has paid it all. He learned something important.
Darius, that little building is looking pretty classy with the addition of that door. I don't blame you for not wanting to leave to go visit kinfolk when you are on a roll with the construction project.
Time to be getting our dinner on the table.
Elaine,
You snot,,,,I didn't know you were in Medical Transcription. LOL
Mary,
Glad she's sleeping,,,you Will have a couple of calm days,,,enjoy them while you have them,,, She'll be back to *normal* in no time,,lol
Kelly
Elaine, go ahead and blame your keyboard problems on Sammi, he's taking the hit for everything that goes wrong around here lately....
DH got me one of the new ergonomic ones but it only took a few days to adjust to it as all the keys are in the same locations. I don't know how anybody can work on the newer ones that have rearranged all the letters....I'd be a raving lunatic in no time flat.
Got my computer back this afternoon. Ouch. I could almost have bought a new tower for what I paid to upgrade my hard drive and save all my data. If anyone reports seeing an old bag with a shopping cart and it's got all my worldly goods piled in it, you'll know I've gone straight to the poor house, between cats and techno addiction I'm sinking fast.
Oz, I've had the whole nine yards in heart surgery, stent that didn't work, then bypass. When they scheduled the MRI they asked if I had any metal in my body, and asked about the stent....but I don't know if the one they used was metal or not. I suppose I'll find out when they turn on the big magnets. If I explode or stick to the machine, I can pass on stealing a shopping cart...too bad, I was thinking about one of those nice red ones from Target.

Kelly, it has been 9 years since I've worked but sure did enjoy it. That was back when it was a *lot* simpler. The field is tough now with so many new fields and procedures. When HIPAA came in and changed laws and regulations, it shut my little home business down as I wasn't in it in a big enough way to survive. That's why I still love to type and occasionally get an opportunity to do some for the SO here like I'm currently doing. :) Sorry, guess I was just feeling snotty cause I got up at 6:00 this a.m. Just ain't use to that! LOL
Hi Meezers
We posted at the same time, but I didn't hit preview first. My keyboard turned out to be one of those cordless ones. Now I can sit across the room in my recliner. LOL Not very good posture, I'll admit, but sure is comfy ... and I don't even have to see the screen. LOL :) You tell that poor little Sammy I'm not blaming him. Sounds like he's got enough strikes against him right now. ;)
Hi to all hope you are all doing well sound like many have been doing the doctor thing and stres tests and surgery Yiks.
My boyfriends brother had a heart attack he's 45 yrs old !! But listen to this he's been dealing with it since thankgiving didn't go in till this week!! Thought it was heart burn couldn't figure what was wrong .finally decided to go cause his feet swelled up and couldn't lift heavy objects at work . He's Also found that he's diabetic has to go back and get to see the cardiologist tommorrow and are talking surgery I didn't get all the details but wow ..I'll pray for all of you Stay heatlhy . Still working no help in site everyone still out ....Take care of your selves ........Sharon
GG, glad you stomach is feeling better. Hate it when I get a virus. I have to be a death's door when I vomit.
Meezer, Sammi's antics are precious. I can just see him prancing over the keyboard. And interrupting the power, bet you were wondering what was going on. I will keep in mind your MRI next week. If is is rotator cuff problems, if the tear is small, they can do orthoscopic surgery, and you will recover quickly. DH has been through 4 major surgeries for it, and 1 ortho. No comparrison.
Susieq, don't you just love it when DH's have to "suck up"?
Ozarkian, STAY OUT OF GROCERY STORES. |Why don't you call meals on wheels and have them deliver a meal to you?
Mary, I laughed about Amanda Panda squirming to try to avoid the meds. I usually have more on the animal than in them! The last time I tried to give Mr. B a pill, we had to try 5 times. He would always spit it out. Stuck my hand in his mouth, about down his throat, and hit him on the nose, and he swallowed it. I tried to hide them in food, but he always finds them.
Sarv, don't you just hate it when someone shouts out something that is embarrasing? She could have just said the numbers and let it go at that, no need to advertise. Who wrote that book, it sounds really good. I read all the time, so always looking for a good read.
VA, glad the concert went well. Although doing the piece over was like a second chance for who ever goofed the first time. And congrats on getting the timing right. Just didn't know that you would have to do it twice. The painting went well. The room looks so much bigger and brighter. It was a lot of work doing the prep, but it was well worth it. I hired my son to paint another room, and sis and I will paper the kitchen next week. That recipe book project sounds like a good retirement project. I am doing one for DGD, and then have some photo albums that need some work. I just can't get past the "glaring, calling out to you projects".
Well, I went to the grocery today. I had numerous stops to make. Walmart, Lowes, pharmacy, dollar tree, dollar general (cleaning supplies) gas station, took me about 4 hours. Glad I only do this major errand thing once a week. So what are the gas prices in your area? I paid $2.39 today. It seems to go up and down on a regular basis. Saw it Tuesday at the same station for $2.19.
Since we have started "spring cleaning" at my mom's, it is sort of getting me in the mood to start mine. I don't have anything major this year, except paint the kitchen/dining room, and put up some border. The rest is just general cleaning.
DH's back is better, but still he is taking it easy. Didn't do anything today, except feed the animals. He has another chiro appointment in the morning.
Don't know if I told you or not, DMIL is coming home next Tuesday. She will have to have somebody with her, but it will be easier, than driving 50 miles to visit her.
101, please try not to worry too much about the tests. Sometimes, they do these just to get a "baseline" reading to have for comparrison, for later tests. No doubt, they will suggest a low fat diet, and maybe choloestrol lowering drugs. Rest assured that I am here praying for good results for whatever tests they recommend. Please keep us informed.
Well, I am off to visit some of the new forums, I will be back before bedtime.
Hi Everyone,
Just checking in before I sign off for the evening.
Handbells went well this evening as we are starting on some of the new music for spring.
Made a vat of soup - well maybe two vats. Had to cook it in two separate pots and then combine it in a large tub because I had so much turkey stock to begin with. Add the veggies, some frozen turkey, some barley and there's a lot. I've got a 3 quart plastic bowl of it in the freezer and three two-litre ice cream containers in the outdoor fridge/freezer until I have room to freeze more in the freezer. And there's some in the fridge too.
Had trouble getting to sleep last evening and am now yawning. Hope you all have a good night.
Ann
Well I checked out the other forums, and am back only to say that since I had an early wake up call this morning, I am off to bed, hopefully to sleep without arm pain. I don't have much planned for tomorrow, but I am sure that something will jump out and grab me before the day is over.
To all a good, restful, peaceful sleep.
Any good food planned for tomorrow, I am hungry!!
