Oh I know my standards were ok but my minis were so went I could just save the crowns on somw :((
Which is weird for them they ship on dry side. I wonder Libbie had to go out of town I wonder if someone over watered them ? I'm lucky I could save a piece of them.

Mine were not as bad off as yours it seems..they were a little on the wet side but all in all they were ok. I just transplanted them.
So Allison...you want the leaves now? or do you want me to wait until I get the other storytellas in? Up to you!

You wait please and take your time. Let me play catch up lol and send you a large box of goodies. :))

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

Mine were about half and half, some were so soggy that I repotted what i could and left them sitting on towels (out of the pots) to try and wick the moisture away. So far everyone looks good but I'm being overly cautious not to over water again.

Had to do a crown salvage on my Anastasia (boo hoo...) She's perked up now, but boy did I blow it!

it seems that the soil is mostly peat, do you think?

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Yes it is. They don't wick and their grown in a greenhouse. You will find plants bought at shows, and local stores potted in soil like this also.
I take almost all the soil off, may even cut some of the roots and re-pot in new pot. This time the miniatures were super small and soggy. They have never been like this before. Some had no roots , and seemd like they were being used to sell leaves. So I cut crown to start a new fresh plant and now I don't have to worry about root rot.
I have never got them like this from them so I am thinking someone over watered them while they were out of town ? I mean them were water logged.
Here's how they grow their Av's very interesting :))
