More pics...OK, so I am bragging!

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

This first picture is of the second flush from a seedling I grew out from a generous mentor (Please, who are you???)...she really is beautiful...and I think I will keep her and grow her all over the place...she is almost flourescent.

Question: One of the seedlings that has flowered is rather ordinary, white, but it has the most incredible fragrance. I am keeping it...would you?

La Grange, TX(Zone 8b)

Carol,
I'm partial toward fragrances. I'd keep her! Love that first photo.
Veronica

Ae... Ae....
I see Ae.
Beautiful!
I would keep the seedling just for the wonderful fragrance also. Your garden is beautiful with all your brugs. It must be smelling sweet also.....

Kittrell, NC(Zone 7b)

With beauties like that you have every right to brag!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Kin. I see AeAe also. A plant on my wish list and also on my killed list. LOL.

Oh Carol. All look good!

I keep my brugs I like until I find one I like much better with similar characteristics. So keep it till you find one you want more in its place!

;-)
I think I will spray paint some lines in my naners this summer just to make believe I have an AeAe..!!
Carol has one Beauty of a specimen there!!

Brag away girl! Your plants and pictures are an inspiration! Beautiful!

Greensburg, IN(Zone 6a)

I would BRAG, BRAG, BRAG Carol they are beautiful.

Sunset Beach, NC(Zone 8a)

You're lucky to enjoy that scent on peaceful walks......I'm envious! They're so pretty. And might I ask who that handsome (boy?) fella is with you?

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Thanks...decision made...I will keep her. She's white, so it is always great to have more!

Handsome fella is DH Bob - I will have to tell him about the "boy?"....dog is Louise, her sister, Thelma, is off chasing a mouse or something!

It is exciting seeing all the seedlings flowering...almost all of them at once. Nothing unusual has come out yet...and I will let them stay until a second flush to see if the performance improves!

Tyler, TX(Zone 8a)

Carol we will let you brag all you want to as long as you send pictures. Joan

This is a favorite corner of mine....the mauvish plant is Cordyline australis and the other red ones are Cordyline fruticosa....

Tyler, TX(Zone 8a)

Carol, I am off to see if australis and fruticosa will live in 8a. I am writing down all the brug names to to see if they will take the Tx. heat. Thank You for all the beautiful pictures. Joan

Does any one groweather of these plants here in zone 8a?.

Corte Madera, CA

cheering you on, carol! brag away! thanks for sharing your photos.

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

The Cordylines do VERY well in the heat...it is FROST that gets them...but in a mild frost they will die back and return in the spring...

Don't know about Brugs...we don't get that much heat here...85deg. at the most.

Carol

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks! I loved them all! I have looked at your Cordyline pic 10 times. I am going to get lots of Cordyline fruticosa this year. LOL. What are they? The Ti plant right? I bought 3 from ebay and they sent me logs that just sit there, for 3 months. I want an all red one so much!! Come spring I will be on the hunt.

I have a Cordyline australis and it is baby snail chocolate. The leaves are ruined. I kill them and they come for miles to strip the top layer off each leaf.

I hope your Golden Lady is kissing your Rothkirch and thinking of marriage Carol! ! LOL

Tyler, TX(Zone 8a)

I will get the Cordyline and put them in pots so I can take them in in the winter. there color is wonderful. When Kell said Ty plant then I new what there were but I have never seen them so big.

Thanks again for all the beautiful pictures. I will put some pictures up in the spring but we can't beat Ca., Fl., for growing thing. It just seams they have that perfect weather.

Brug people are working hard to get stronger plants for Tx. so it won't be long. Joan

Keaau, HI(Zone 11)

Kell, Ti need warmth...and they should grow very fast and well. If you CUT the leaves at the bottom snails can't climb. Will try to send a picture. Also a ring of aluminum can around the bottom keeps them away....

We ARE very lucky here. The growing season for most things simply slow down from a gallop to a fast trot during the winter!!!
