I finally got off my duff and took some photos of the yellow morning glory vines growing around my yard.
It's sometimes hard to get the true color of the bloom - either the sun is too harsh or the blooms are shadowed by my fence or trees - but the blooms are a gorgeous lemon yellow.

Beautiful ! I just love your yellow Morning Glories !
Allison
I ;ve never seen a yellow mg before!! Are they rare?? Where do you find seeds. They look so fresh and inviting!!
Thanks ya'll...
The original seeds were from Reunion Island.
I've been growing them for a few years now. The color is quite unusual - a very pretty bright lemon yellow. I also have ipomoea obscura growing but it really dulls in comparison. The small pale flowers of that cannot compare to the beauty of these bigger brighter ones.

wow these are wonderful i love the yellow and it is so nice seeing blooms this time of year
TexasPuddyPrint..Please, Please what is the name of your morning glory? I thought I grew every color there was..I love these yellow ones !! Would you have any seed you would part with? Or do you know where I could purchase some seed?
WOW !!! What a display.
Cat.....What beautiful Morning Glories.....I too have never seen Yellow. Where is Reunion Island? I guess what I am saying Is I would love to buy some of that seed....
I have some yellow roses, and I know what you mean about trying to photograph it, very hard to do. The sun has to be in the right position and so do you when you snap it....
Deann
Oh wow, simply wonderful... I have this MG, from a very generous member. I can't wait to plant this one.. Hurry Spring... Do you have this one planted in full sun? I can't wait...
Tami
Deann - I got the original stock from Barbadine. Reunion Island is off the east coast of Madagascar.
Yep, gotta work around the harsh sun when photographing those light colored blooms.
Tami - I have this planted on an east fence - so it's shaded in the morning but receives sun from noon to sunset. Also have some planted on the south side of the house...between the backporch and a bunch of banana plants...that stays fairly shaded throughout the day. Also have some tendrils from that same location that weaseled their way under my side gate and onto a trellis on the east side of the house. Morning sun...shade from about 1pm on. Had some in pots that remained in the shade on my backporch. They received indirect sunlight throughout the day.
They are quite prolific - you will be quite pleased with them.

Cat.....WEll I don't think I am gonna be going to Madagascar in the not too distant future to visit Alex the Lion, Gloria the Hippo, Marty the Zebra and Penguin. ...my great granson Eric just loves those little characters.....So, may I be so bold as to ask you for some seed....I would be more then happy to pay postage.
Thanks.....
Deann
I was thinking the same thing Deann! I would love to have a few seeds too if you would be willing to trade or sasbe. I'm willing to bet that you will get many more requests when others see these beautiful pictures.
I too, would love some yellow MG I will send a sase. Let me know if you have enough seed to share. I have never seen the yellow. Last year was my first year with a morning glory. I bought Scarlett O'Hara seed but haven't planted it yet.
Thanks,
Chris
A stunning Yellow!! thanks for sharing the photos with us to drool and short-circuit our keyboards.. ;-)
These are not available for SASE. I do have a post under seed exchange - if you are interested in trading please read through it and if you have what I am requesting in exchange then please send me D-mail.
