Growing Fritillaria Imperial in a pot

Saline, MI(Zone 5b)

Can you grow Fritillaria Imperial in a pot.

I would like to try one but did not plant any this fall. I could get one (on ebay for example) and pot it if this would work.

Would I need to put it into the fridge for a few weeks? Or I could pot it and put in in my unheated garage for a while (zone 5b).

If I can pot one what size pot do you recommend and other growing tips?

I'm experimenting and growing some in a pot this year. I planted them before frost and the pot has spent all winter outside. I used a pretty large pot, 16 in. pot I think. But I also planted more than one bulb in the pot. I could update later and tell you how they do.

I'd say give it a go otherwise you'll never know! I'd put it in a large pot in an unheated room as you suggest until it's warm enough to go outside. Good luck!
