Palm Bay, FL(Zone 9b)

Dunedin, FL(Zone 10b)

Yeah Priotiy mail is not all as fast as it should be most times. I find that a lot. And it should be 2-3 days 2 days from Florida I would think . It will be here tomorrow !

Northern California, CA(Zone 9a)

Santa came here too! I went to our ONLY florist in town the other day, they just moved into an old victorian house on main street, and used to be in this obscure little cubby hole of a shop in the old train station before that. Anyway, I asked if they ever got streps in and she said she was going to the SFO flower market this week and if they looked nice she'd pick up a few for me to look at.

Well, I treated myself! I know they are no names, but great for me to get started with! Any tips are much appreciated since these plus the half dozen babies from the bargain violet thing are all I've ever grown.

What to do with this one?

Where this leaf had been bent and partially broken, a baby has appeared?

begonia...sounds great...glad yuo got them..and sometimes...plants do their thing better than we try to make them do...as you know when a plant is bruised...broken...etc...it's "body" puts all its energy into saving its life...putting out new growth...blossoms..etc...the mystery and magic of plants is amazing.

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

So glad you liked them Allison!
I hope the Aly's blooms true! I will be interested to see.
I am assuming you mean Holy toledo is the one you wanted?
Were the plants in good shape? I am still learning this packing thing :)
Hopefully soon I will have a mini box and such to send ya! I have a ton of suckers down and waiting on them to root some more before they find new homes :)
You should get more gifts with all your generousity to others!
You are welcome to anything I own lady! You should know that!

Vero Beach, FL(Zone 9b)

Begonia wow your Streps are beautiful ! I don't care to be honest if a Strep has a name. May I have a leaf of all of them pretty please :)) Hey the leaf just leave it ! I have a leaf down most I don't cut the rib too lazy and takes up more room so I put them into cups to root. And one leaf is growing her baby on her back side top side what ever side. lol just like your's only my leaf's baby is getting big. lol too funny. I'd leave it there and leeet thm grow. For now short and simply. Streps like warm/hot water. They don't like to have their feet wet let them get really dry before watering. They can wilt over dry water them they will come back but over water they will die. If by chance you over water cut the leaves off put the leaf in water it will harden up and you can set it and get babies ! They like it cooler 65-70. I gorw mine in natural light they bloom all the time. But light fixture, lamp , window anything will do.
A couple years ago Gary out of Africa sent me a copt of this great article on Streps tomorrow I will post it and it will answer all questions about growing Streptocarpus plants :)) I like to grow mine in pan pots. A couple of mine are in 5" pan pots and bloom all the time. Some are in 3 " pots and don't often . I will be transplanting when I get time from transplanting hundreds of babies .

Allison, please start a new thread when you post that information tomorrow about Streps.

I'm as guilty of wandering off topic as anyone here, but lately it seems our threads have become really, really random.... and good information ends up getting buried.

I started going on about this, and then I realized I was doing it! LOL So I'm going to start a new thread about thsi subject.

Here's the link to it! http://davesgarden.com/forums/t/566433/
