I was given a cutting several years ago. It has never had seed pods, should it? Or do some just propogate by runners or cuttings?
Is there a way to insert pictures from my web picture storage? I couldn't find a FAQ on how to do it. I have no pics on my computer due to it crashing last month.

gorgeous flowers, but don't recognise the type.

you can put a link in by copying and pasting. Just left click at the very LEFT on your browser address, hold down and drag to the right till the end. This will turn blue.

Then, click on the 'Edit' tab at the top, holding down drag to the 'copy' then let go. This will have copied your web address, or anything else you want to copy.

To paste, go to where you want to copy it, click the flashing starter line into place, then go to 'Edit' tab again, left click, holding down and drag down to 'paste' then let go. job done.

Would you like to try it or do you want me to do it for you?

Jackson, SC(Zone 8a)

its a blue dawn morning glory. you have to have two different plants not the same faimily line to get seeds.

it will come back from runners if protected each year. cuttings are easy to start from it. shoot look on the ground if any of the runners are on the ground may have already rooted for you. just have to cut and plant.

fish_knees, you don't get much more stupid thamn me do you? You have posted alink, get the brain in gear, what you wanted was to pu the picture on.

you can save it to you rcomputer downloads, but needs to be in jpeg. sometimes a 'right click' will do an art image. the way I do a jpeg is to save the image to 'Files', then open it up in the 'Picture finder' in the file. Then I select 'save again and select . in my case, 'AOL downloads'. Then you can post it as normal.

Here you go Fish_knees.
This is your photo, and it is Ipomoea indica.

sorry, open up just 'open', but I have tried this on your pic and it doesn't have a document to save, so there is possibly a way to save to art image, I used to do it on my old computer. i saved as a 'bmp' image, changed to jpeg in the Picture Finder in the file, then it could be accessed from the iphoto express in the folder, which could be cropped, altered etc and then saved again using files and jpeg.

Lincoln, United Kingdom(Zone 8a)

Emmagrace how did you do that?

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Hey wallaby1,

Simple, I went to Fish_knees link to her photo and saved it to my hard drive,
then hit the Image 'Brouse' at this site and loaded it up.
Neat, huh!

Hey EmmaGrace! Thanks! I believe I am bidding on some of your MG's on E-bay as we speak :)
Okay EmmaGrace, I'm computer stupid. How did you save it? Just in documents? My pictures? Seems to me I tried this a while ago and it said my pic was not in the right format.

Thanks for everyones help!

One more....so if I plant other MG's they should help polinate this one for seeds? I just caught the MG bug BAD LOL!!

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Hi Fish_knees,
I'm maybe a step up from stupid regarding computers, but not by much....lol

I clicked on your link to open your picture.
Then, RIGHT click on the picture - and click on 'Save Picture As'
I saved it in 'My Pictures' - which is a file in 'My Documents'.
However, at this point when you are saving your picture, you can save it anywhere you want.
You can even save it to a disk.

Also, when you 'Save As' you have a choice of JPEG or Bitmap.
I always save my photos as JPEG, unless I have no other choice.

A-hah!! Another Morning Glory Addict....lol
You know it is incurable, don't you!

You'd probably need to get Ron or Stacey or someone else to tell you more about how to pollinate the Blue Dawn. For sure you will have to have two entirely different species, and from there I'm not sure if you have to 'hand pollinate' or just let them grow together.

Hello,
Ipomoea indica will produce seeds if pollinated by a compatible strain of Ipomoea indica, not a different species

Thanks Ron! Those links were very helpful! I'm new here and still trying to navigate my way around. It's a little different than some of the other pond/garden sites I haunt LOL!! It took me a while to figure out that the forums are listed in order of the latest post, so they are never the same. There certainly are a lot of great features here. And everyone seems so nice! Some forums can get kinda nasty, glad to be here! Hopefully once all my seeds come in and planted I'll have more to offer on the forum.

Thanks again for everyones help!
This is my other passion - ponds

That is so beautiful, and I know you must be proud of that piece of work. Be sure to share your MG photos with us, especially on the MG Threads that we usually have going each year.

And Welcome to Daves. It is a great site!

On wow what a gorgeous water lily, a tropical one for sure! Now I am purple with envy.

Would have to have an undercover pond here for that, heated consevatory, oh well. Can't have it all can we?
